The iras scan is Infrared I believe so maybe there's a simple way to get Infrared remote control working again..?

Never thought of it, but even if it's possible, wouldn't it be weird trying to position your infrared beam towards your TV considering it's placement on the note 8?

Infrared isn't visible to the naked eye so not sure the iris scan is actually infrared. Even if it was, the focal point of it is so short, I wouldn't think it would have enough range to operate anything at normal TV viewing distances. Think about it, it has to be 8 - 10 inches away to even read your iris.

As mentioned above, it wouldn't be very practical since you'd have to face the phone screen at the TV while trying to press buttons.

Totally agree - the distance especially! Your exactly right with the 8 - 10 inches - I use Iris Detection 100% for unlock and if I'm more than 8" - 10" away, it won't respond, even if I'm centered in the targets!

How, may I ask, do you get edge lighting to work with incoming phone calls? The Phone app is not one of the app choices to turn on for edge lighting, at least on my Verizon Note 8.

I do believe he means setting it up to make calls from it. Pull the edge screen out and you will see a settings button down below (it sits just above the "recently open apps" button. I looked through the available downloads for edge screen, and there was nothing for incoming calls. Hope that helps.
