Ask Phil about the EVO 3D

Can you show us a screen shot of the SD & Phone Storage, so we can see how the phone's memory is partitioned? Is the 4GB of memory used entirely for App Storage (I hope this is the case) or is it like the sensation and partitioned (1GB for Apps and 3GB for SD Card Space.)

How does the display look compared to the Sensation? Any less sharp/bright due to the parallax screen overlay?

Look pretty similar to me. I'm not all caught up in that Pentile/whatever stuff. If it looks good, it looks good. And the 3D parallax stuff doesn't appear to affect 2D at all.

Of course, I'm blind as a bat. lol.

BGR reported they could see gridlines in the display due to the 3D screen construction. What's your impression of the display?

Really looking forward to your review...when do you think you may have that?

Getting phone regardless but you have already touched (in a 7 minute unboxing video) on some things full on reviews didn't even mention lol.

Phil, what do you think of this in comparision to the sgs2?

Man we are dying for a really really solid, non emotional, honest review here. Eta on that? :)

Does your E3D have 2D 1080p recording settings in the camera options?
Others have said & shows there no to be.

Initial thoughts will be up this afternoon. Full review? ... Later. I like to actually use the phone first. :p

Check toward the end of the hands-on video.

+1 on this, this is a big selling point that needs to be cleared up, I would like to hear from phil on this as well.

Does the 3D/2D switch & camera button feel solid or cheap? If you push up on it does it feel like you could break it?

No. Here's the deal on recording:

Video: Up to 1280x720 in 2D

In 3D mode, it doesn't actually give you resolution options. But I just shot a video, it pulled it onto my computer, and it's also saying 1280x720.

Oh well, that means 720p. Too bad it isn't 1080p.

Ah, that is sad to see. Hopefully this is remedied by HTC via update.

I don't know if you're ignoring me or you just missed it so I figured I'd try one more time :p
How is signal quality in terms of both data and voice, and also how is audio quality during calls?

Also wondering the same thing as Psychotron regarding the 'durability' of the camera toggle and shutter.

Thanks Phil!

Phil,
Was wondering if the Evo 3D came with the Swype keyboard installed. So used to it with the Epic that I would sorely miss it.

I think he was talking about it when the 3d screen was active. Not the 2d screen, I might have been mistaken but I think he was talking about 3d videos or what not when he mentioned it and also talking about how it may feel off if you are not looking at it directly.
