AT&T 4G LTE Coming Soon?

Just read this, and was wondering if the Infuse will be able to work on the LTE network. Let me know what you think of LTE coming to your area.

If I'm not mistaken the phone has to be 4G LTE capable, which the Infuse is not. I read an article that basically said the LTE service was coming out even though there are no current phones on AT&T to use it. However, Verizon did the same thing last year (update to LTE before getting any compatible phones).

That's correct. They probably want to get more markets going before any phones come out.

I remember reading somewhere that someone talked to an at&t store worker and he said that the infuse is LTE compatible.

As much as I wish that statement is true, I highly doubt it.

LTE is a hot commodity right now. Especially with Verizon promoting it like crazy. If the Infuse were 4G LTE Samsung would be all over that. I still like the idea of the network being upgraded though.

AT&T has been slowly upgrading their network switch/firmware to LTE since over a year ago and they've been actively upgrading in the last few months.

Store employees wouldn't know much of what is/was going on in the background. They're not in IT
