AT&T 5G goes live with the S8

Not talking about speeds. Talking about T-Mobile's terrible lack of coverage area. That speed is gone as soon as you step out of their tiny bubble.
Their bubble has gotten significantly larger. It's the only carrier in my State that has coverage across the entire state, including in some of the most rural areas where no other provider cares about reaching.

It isn't the T-Mobile of 3-4 years ago.

Not very good in my area. I was on tmobile for a long time. I really like their service but just not expansive here.

AT&T did the same thing when they unveiled their 4G which was really not 4G - at least what was known to be 4G at the time. It was a bit deceiving to say the least.

I just said that a few posts up :-) HSPA+ was at the time the AT&T fake 4G.

No worries. O how that mildly infuriated me years ago when AT&T people felt they were equal to us Verizon people lol.

I bet AT&T's fake 5G can't match this 😂

It's going to take subscribers a few years to see the benefits of the spectrum.
They plan to start deploying it this year. Leading phone manufacturers are scheduled to start releasing phones for it this year also. I'd bet the Note 8 will run on it. The main benefit of the 600 being coverage and it won't be congested.

Yep,T-Mobile CTO already confirmed that today.. That device got to be the Note 8 beast.

@nevilleRay: .@verizon @tmobile And we’re wasting no time - @tmobile's deploying 600 MHz this yr, Samsung will have a device by holidays & other OEMs making plans!

And that's why I'm loving T-Mobile. They don't waste time and no exactly what has to be done to beat the competition.

They won about 31 MHz of spectrum. They will deploy around 10 this year. The rest should be available, currently it is not compatible, in 2020.

Yeah I like the current T-Mobile, they bother only with network and not with removing features, putting logos, and messing that much with phones. Leave that OEMs and concentrate on network. Once they become like Verizon and AT&T have to find some one else, may be project fi or some mvno. I'm hoping they don't turn like them once they grow big.

Not sure how long John Legere can keep this going, but has been a fun couple of years for T-Mobile costumers.

The 10 will quadruple their coverage which will drastically increase their reach to rural areas.

Re: AT&T 5G goes live with the S8

Well, that is good news. I am not familiar with that aspect of itツ
It's going to open up alot of competition between the big 3 (I don't consider Sprint a big anything except disaster) It will give T-Mobile coverage in areas Verizon and At&t have dominated. With more competition comes better pricing and better features. Just look at the unlimited data scramble recently. Verizon swore they'd never offer it again and here we are, everyone's got it including Verizon.

Now if we could get some cable competition we'd be in good shape.

Yes we all benefit from competition. I don't even have cable anymore because it just costs too damn much.

It has been many moon's since I had Sprint, I am sure they are better now, but when ever I got a call I had to haul my butt outside my house just to take it, man that sucked. Then I got Verizon, I know location makes a difference, but it was so nice to be able to talk to people while sitting on my couchツ

Verizon's got excellent coverage in most areas. My problem with them used to be price but they came way down. The only reason I switched from them is because they don't cover the areas I go camping. I'm also not a huge fan of their customer service.

I've been beta testing Hulu's upcoming live tv service and once it releases next month I'll be cutting cable. The prices have gotten out of control.

So far Netflix and KODI on my Shield TV has kept me completely satisfied. It will be interesting to see what Hulu has to offer. I am getting off topic now, but briefly, how is the Hulu service coming along? Obviously you like it, but is it much different than the other services currently available?

It's pretty good. I like that it's bundled right in Hulu so it's not yet another app. I don't really like the menu system and where they put things like the dvr. It's kind of confusing at first where you should look to find what you want but after a day I understood it. So far I've only had one issue. A show lost sound but I was able to exit the show and reopen it and it never happened again. The price is what I'm concerned about. There's some rumors floating around and if they're true, it will be way too expensive to add the dvr function. The dvr functionality is excellent and there's alot of good channels. The only one missing is discovery. I've decided I either get Hulu live tv or directv now. Either way I'm done with cable.
