AT&T and USPS issues.

Ok so I sent my Note 10 back on Aug 21st. ATT has been sending me texts saying they were going to charge me for the phone since the beginning of Sept . I've been calling them since Sept 1st trying to get this fixed .All the reps kept saying don't worry. It will be taken care of . Today is the day that they needed the phone back so I wouldn't be charged. Well lo and behold they still don't have the phone and I got texts and emails saying I'm going to get charged . I talked to CS and this woman tells me I have to pay for the phone and once they get it they will credit my account . NOPE you will NOT. I am now waiting on a supervisor to call me back. I have no question. I'm just venting .

I always pay for shipping insurance for just that reason.... I know it's an extra expense but in times like this it's worth it ;-)

If you use a shipping label that the vendor gives you for the return, then your responsibility for delivery ends when you hand over the package to the shipper and get a receipt that shows the tracking number. After that, whatever happens in transit is for the vendor to figure out with the shipper, invoking whatever insurance the vendor may have bought.

But if you arrange and pay for the shipping yourself, then yes, insurance can be helpful.

I am still fighting with AT&T over a device I sent back and have the tracking to show they received it but they say they didn't. It's crazy how screwed up they are.

Its crazy how these things happen but it get resolved im sure .

I was sent to collections explained the situation to them and told them let's go to court now the debt collector has dropped the debt.

As if my luck couldn't get any worse. I get home and look in the spot where I was holding the usps receipt and it's not there . I took it out last week to check my status and I thought I put it back . So I either threw it away or I hid it from myself. Im really glad I took a picture of the box with the tracking number. Fml..

If you don't get anywhere with the reps as I did with my Note 20 tradein, open up a case against AT&T with the BBB, and within 2 business days the Office of the President will call you from Oklahoma, and get the issue resolved. That was the only way I could get it fixed after like 10 calls to all the stupid reps that couldn't do anything or lied.

AT&T's return service is pathetic. Last year I return my DirecTv box and they kept bothering me about sending it back even though I had the receipt stating that it was delivered to them. I made sure the keep that receipt because sure enough they charged me for not returning the box so I kept calling customer service about it and gave them all the shipping info and after a few months I finally got my refund back.

I had this happen with T-Mobile. It was a nightmare. T-Mobile did me right, but it took a long time for things to work themselves through the system. It was about 4 months of calling every month when my bill hit. Sometimes it was several calls back and forth as a supervisor got involved. In the end, they wrote the phone off.

Unfortunately, if you order online, they do not let you turn the phone in at a store. Because I use 2-factor authentication for several accounts, it is a pain to change out phones if I don't have the old phone with me for at least a few hours until all the accounts are moved over. The ever-so-helpful people there will argue that everything is fine and your back up will make everything work. I've tried to explain to them them that the 2-factor authenticator apps do not work that way. They insist I just have to log in. Bah. Anyway, I'm forced to order online so that I can have both phones in my hands for a while. It's nice, also, to finagle small settings when something doesn't want to work exactly like it was on my previous phone. I can see what I had on my old phone for comparison.

I have no doubt AT&T will make things right, but I do hope it doesn't take near as many phone calls as it did for me. The only thing I can say is that all the reps I talked to were nice and did their best to be helpful. I'm sure AT&T's reps will be the same. I just think it's beyond their pay grade to credit someone for phones that are near or above that 1k mark.

Omg this happened to me. Don't pay for it. It took them 6 month to fix it every month i would pay what was normally do minus the "phone not returned charge" and the late. For the "the phone not returned". Yeah DO NOT PAY for it

That's correct, they inspect and evaluate on spot and give to trade value and paperwork for proof.
Isn't that for in store purchases as opposed to online purchasers who decide to drop off the trade at the store?

Thats what I thought, thanks
That may be true for in store purchases. There have been a couple of people who purchased online and returned the trade through the store and it wasn't evaluated in store. They simply sent it to the trade in center for them.

I don't know , I'm going based off what I remember so far one said I'm correct.
