Android Central Question

I am using a AT&T branded S8 plus on cricket and I am wondering if I can still receive the Oreo update and who will I receive it by?

I think you may have to put in an at&t sim card for it to receive the update.. I am not sure though.

I have an AT&T s8+ on cricket and tried everything to get updates and it worked a few times with AT&T sim cards but not always. I switched my firmware to the unlocked version and get updates

.....late

I got mine after reading an article on the XDA-Developers web site. They have one for S8's that have the Snapdragon processor in them. It worked like a charm for me.

NOTE: This will also factory reset your phone which is always a good thing when you want to do a major OS update (like from Nougat to Oreo).

Nope you will never get Oreo unless you fully revert back to AT&T. It's one of the disadvantages of saving money. That is why I choose an unlocked phone and just hope for the best from Samsung.

if you download smart switch for your computer/Mac then you could update regardless of aim card

I had a S6 Verizon branded on tmobile and couldn't get the update OTA but worked fine on Smart Switch
