AT&T Galaxy Nexus coming in February

Visiting family in Dallas, went by a store and the rep said something about an announcement in two weeks. Anyone hear something similar?

this makes it worth a branch visit. i will report back if i hear anything. I'm also in dallas.

i sure hope that if it shows, their version has some improvements over VZW's. volume, signal, and battery if possible.

I just left the iPhone 4 for the unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus. I am experiencing none of the network, battery or volume issues on AT&T. My battery is sitting at 64% after 10 hours of light use today. I am a happy camper and saw no reason to wait for AT&T to get the GN. The phone did cost me almost $700, but I am enjoying unlimited data and no contract (my contract expired a month ago) with AT&T. I couldn't be happier with the GN on AT&T :D

My contract expires in June. I just may purchase! What are the safest venues?

I purchased my GNex from amazon.com. If you belong to amazon Prime, you get 1 day shipping for $3.99. I have never had any regrets purchasing anything through amazon and the GNex was no different :-)

Hey! I'm in the same situation (iPhone 3GS), but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on purchasing the nexus unlocked... I don't want there to be any issues switching devices on ATT, and I definitely don't want to lose my unlimited data! How easy was it for you? Did you need to take it into an ATT store?

Thanks!
Kim

All you have to do is take the SIM out of your 3GS and insert it into the GNex. AT&T doesn't need to know that you swapped phones and you will keep your unlimited data. Ive done it and verified many times on attwireless site that my plan is unchanged.

Go for it :D

You won't have any issues with AT&T whatsoever. You will only lose your unlimited data if u switched carriers and decided to come back. The SIM use is the only reason why I haven't left AT&T, cause I like to switch my phones every few months. The only thing u may want to update with AT&T is your IMEI number and switch your data plan from iPhone to the smartphone data plan. You will not lose your unlimited data.

Happy New Year, ya'll.

JCM: I'm curious if the GNexs from Amazon come with the Verizon
branding on them, and if Google Wallet works.

Nothing worse than getting 'most' of an operating system.

Cheers!

Not completely true about unlimited loss. I just came back to AT&T after trying out vz nexus. As long as its within 30 days they will give you everything you had previously.

Do the Unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus on ATT runs on LTE?

Please let me know as I am about to go and buy a unlocked GN world phone.

Totally bummed with ATT for not releasing GN at CES.

Did you really have to ask this question in 6 different threads?

And no the unlocked GSM GN does not support ATT LTE. It will work with HSPA/HSPA+.

Sorry - I was about to go and buy a new GSM GN right now and really wanted to know before I bought it. Now that it does not have the LTE support, I am not so sure I would want to buy one. I need LTE support for my work. :( I am so bummed at ATT.

You could always get the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket HD. Looks this is what AT&T is going to get instead of and LTE GNex. Kinda bummed myself.

Just curious. CNET review of the Samgsung GN unlocked list (under specifications tab) cellular technology as LTE. Is that incorrect?

S2 Skyrocket HD is coming in "next few months". I could not have waited for that. I need a phone urgently as I had not upgraded since iPhone 3S and I did not think that iPhone 4 or 4S was such a big upgrade to go and get a new iPhone.

The need for faster network speeds trumped the desire to have the best phone available yesterday. So gave up on getting a GN and went and got myself a S2 LTE. I am getting close to 20 mpbs and I need that for work.

HERE IS THE SCOOP:

AT&T did NOT cancel my unlimited data plan. They put me under a 2 year contract and continued me with my unlimited data plan for $30 per month. So I still have my unlimited data plan!!!. Now I should be able to find way around the tethering limitations that ATT has placed.

Any pointers on how to get around the tethering limitations from you all would be helpful and greatly appreciated.

Also they are offering Galaxy Tab 8.9" for $630 and the Skyrocket is for free. Should I take it. I still have three days to go and get the tab and pay the difference of $430. Any your thoughts on it? Is Galaxy Tab 8.9" is good for $430?

Thanks
Ashfaq

From a few threads online mention that the ATT GN will not be LTE. Cause Samsung have not made a GSM version with LTE support just CDMA ( Verizon and Sprint).. So they you have it.

Wait so how do we even know its coming. Why would they bother since they are bringing out the galaxy s 2 skyrocket HD?

If it is coming out, why is it taking so long? Their exclusivity with Verizon must be up already.

Yep, the HD version of the Galaxy S2 is pretty telling. They are pretty much only releasing LTE phones from here on out.

I really dont think the Nexus will make it to ATT, with all the new Samsung phones att is has gotten and is receiving, i don't think ATT has bandwidth to carry the Nexus with out hurting sales of the Galaxy S Note and Galaxy S Skyrocket HD..........................
I really think att got the Galaxy S SkyRocket HD in place of the Nexus
