AT&T, How I Hate Thee

Yes. Still waiting. I am on build LMY48Y.

Sorry if this has been answered already, but what is LMY48Y? Is it another "AT&T only" build number? I haven't received anything from AT&T since 5.1.1 LMY48W on my non- AT&T, Google Play Store Nexus 6. At this point I totally don't see any benefit or reason to buy a Google play store Nexus 6 vs buying an AT&T branded Nexus 6, once you use their (AT&T) network, they somehow turn you phone into an AT&T version anyway.

So far, it doesn't look like Marshmallow has any carrier specific builds - looks like a unified build.
The N6, purchased from Play store, or from AT&T should be the same (except that ATT version is SIM locked, and has their boot animation etc). In either case, you can always just flash the factory image (if you are comfortable doing that).

I did flash using Wugfresh, but after I had 6.0 on my phone, and after doing a wipe data and cache reset, the cell part of my phone was terrible missed calls no signal dropped calls failed text messages. I flashed back to 5.1.1 LMY48W and the phone was back to working fine. That's what makes me think there's something different on AT&T.

I assume that it is an AT&T specific build. Idk. My build number changed from W to Y after applying the OTA November security update a few days ago.

I wonder why the problems,I got a warranty replacement N6 from AT&T Friday( bought my N6 from At&t ) as my original N6 lost audio out of the speakers, I set the replacement phone up without installing the AT&T sim and after a few security updates I got the prompt to install 6.0, Did the update installed the sim and so far everything seems to work fine. I'm on MRA58K

It's like putting an AT&T sim in an unlocked phone effectively turns it into an AT&T phone, minus the carrier lock and whatever bloat.

When I first got mine from Google Play I brought it to the store to get a nano sim (I only had an AT&T micro sim from my previous phone). They registered it such, I'm guessing with the IMEI. Maybe that was a mistake I made. In the past I've gotten unlocked phones and just popped my sim in and called it a day without talking to the carrier.

That's the same exact thing I did. I wonder if we take the sim out and do a factory reset if the update would download?

THIS.
However, this is the only Nexus phone I've owned that AT&T has done that with, never had a problem with them interfering with software on any other Nexus.
Is the OTA security update for November out? I'm still in LMY48W, not rooted, bootloader locked, and no security update here.

Got security update Friday. Still no Marshmallow though.

Possible, though AT&T would still have the IMEI.

Back in the day, weren't we able to use wifi while in airplane mode? That might be something to try, though I don't see a configuration for that anymore...

I suspect you don't have the November security update - (check about page in settings). The Nov security update will be on top of Marshmallow

Thanks, that's what I was thinking, that the November security update was only for 6.0 marshmallow.

Negative. I'm on 5.1.1 build number LMY48Y, security patch level 2015-11-01. Screenshot_2015-11-08-17-26-37.jpg

It might take more than one. Mine went through 3 resets before 6.0 popped up. SIM out of course.

So weird! But that does explain why a lot of ATT folks haven't received OTA to 6.0 yet - Google probably insisted on pushing out security updates, and ATT must have insisted on sticking with 5.1.1 - so they pushed out this LMY48Y build. UGH.
