AT&T HOX checks for updates, then returns to previous screen?

Hey guys,

Whenever I hit "Check for Updates" on my AT&T HOX, it'll check for updates, then return to the previous "Check for Updates" screen without doing anything. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm on 1.85, and I know in terms of rooting/unlocking the bootloader that this is a good sign that there isn't an update for me, but it kinda irks me that it doesn't do anything when it checks for updates. Is there any way to fix this? I've heard a factory reset might, but I really would rather not do that... installing every app manually is a pain in the butt lol.

mine did this and after talking to HTC i was instructed to manually install the new update. I lost all data, apps, etc and had a factory reset more or less but now it does what it's supposed to do.

How did you manually install the 2.20 update?

I had this problem with an update on my X. I did a factory reset then checked for updates again. This solved my problem.

download the RUU from HTC's website, connect your phone to the computer and follow the instructions. I've had to do this to my wife's OneX.

Thanks for the replies everyone! Looks like I'll have to factory reset either way then... And then manually install all 64 apps lol. I may just try the root exploit and then unlock the bootloader and flash a custom ROM... Does anybody have any experience with rooting using the "Check for Update" exploit, even if it returns to the previous screen when it checks for updates like mine does?
