Have had the phone since launch day and I absolutely love it. The only issue i have (big issue) is the way it handles group messaging. Downloaded many apps to replace the stock messaging app from gosms, textra to ninja sms. None of these worked fine, always giving me errors especially when getting multiple messages in a group message setting.

Anybody else have these problems? If so, any known fixes or is this just a problem android has always had?

I love my one, but sheesh....the sms/mms group messaging deal has me frustrated. Apple has got it down, why can't android?

This has been the NUMBER ONE regret I've had in switching from and iPhone to and Android phone. Since unrooting and getting back to stock so I could get 4.3 from AT&T, I've gotten less "missed" texts. When I was running cyanogenmod 10.2 with the stock Android 4.3 ROM, I was in bliss until I started on my rampage to solve all of Android's issues with group texting / MMS. I got to the point where I couldn't even send an MMS. That's when I gave up and went back to stock.

That said, there was a thread around here or the net somewhere that mentioned making sure you removed your old phones from your AppleID as well as disassociated tour phone number with Apple. I think the root cause lies there. I think that if I never had an Apple phone and had my phone number tied to Apple's network, I'd never miss a text from and iPhone user. I don't think I miss texts from Android users. Most of my "people" have iPhone. So it's hard to truly test how well my messaging works.

FWIW, I'm currently using Textra, the only messaging app I've installed since going back to stock and getting the 4.3 update.

appreciate the reply.

i too am using textra.

rather than Message Not Found errors, I get can't retrieve MMS errors from textra.

bump.

I HATE ANDROID now. Definitely switching when my contract is up. Anybody want to purchase an Htc One Black for At&t?

I had a few hiccups when I switched from my iPhone earlier this year but have not had any issues since probably My first Android phone was the Nexus 4, then an HTC One X that I still have but don't use much. I mostly use my Note 2 but have been looking at used HTC One's just to play around with.

Sent from my GT-N5110 using AC Forums mobile app

Completely stock HTC One here with AT&T and this number never had an iPhone. Still experiencing the issue :(

Formatted my phone and installed nothing but the essentials. Phone has been wiped clean and i'll see if this is still an issue. It appears to happen mainly when text messages come in rapidly from group messages. My best guess is android OS doesn't handle group messaging well and although android has tried to program around this but still has a few flaws.

Bump. Im seeing this on a Samsung Note 3 after moving from a Droid Razr HD without issues. Perhaps the move from Verizon to AT&T helped create this?
