I've had the HTC one for a year now. Excited to get Sense 6. Or I was.

Backed up the phone, updated it. Update failed halfway through. Backup couldn't be found.

Since then, I've done various hard resets, soft resets, wiped the cache partition.

The phone still boots up, but it's missing all sorts of programs and won't connect to google's servers. I'm at a loss. I am currently using my SIM in an old iPhone 4s. The screen is so small.

Any ideas on how to get this thing back to factory?

Thanks

Mark

I will try that. Can't view the video at work. Does it explain how to unlock the bootloader as well or is that something I need to figure out first?

I didn't look at the video, just skimmed the info.

Sent phone to HTC after going through advanced tech support. they received it today. Since it is out of warranty, he said I will get a quote to fix it. I explained that all I did was push the button for a software update, that they pushed out. I can't imagine why I would end up paying for it. I was encouraged to wait for the quote and then dispute it. I'll update once I find out how HTC intends to resolve this.

As I said previously, this was a locked/unrooted phone.
