AT&T M8's to get "extreme power savings" update this week!

The AT&T version 1.58.502.1 is supposed to have the additional camera functions. The version I received this morning(Tmobile) is 1.57.531.7.
I suspect it's just the cam update that was already available in the app store as a "Gallery" update.

I have that version number, as I am on AT&T, but I didn't get any additional camera functions

Be careful what you wish for. I would very much like to go back to before the update. After installing the latest AT&T OTA update to 1.58.502.1 on my HTC One M8, I am unable to download any new app update or any other new app from the Google Play Store. Any attempted app download hangs forever. I have found no other problem with this new software. Have talked to HTC Support and tried various things short of a hard reset which I don't want to do and nothing so far helps.

Sadly you probably do have to do a factory reset. Sometimes after updates things go wrong so wiping it and making it fresh helps.

I know, just hoping not to have to do that. Don't have the time now to mess with it.

I finally got the update I went to AT&T I told them my phone is unlocked and I'm using it on T-Mobile so they let me use a active AT&T SIM card and it found the update and installed.

So it wont let you update if you have a diff. Sim card?. U just unlock yours recently.is it safe to unlock and is it illegal?

I unlocked it about 3 weeks ago from cellunlocker.net and no it's not illegal.

A new behavior that I've noticed is the Data manager is marking every new WiFi Network as a Mobile hotspot. This was blocking Google+ Photos auto backup from syncing my photos. Once I unchecked the WiFi network I was connected too under Mobile hotspots, my photos synced. I wonder if it's blocking Play Store from updating your apps especially if you have it set to update apps only when connected to WiFi.

Note this behavior was only observed if Google+ Photos was setup backup photos using WiFi only and the WiFi Network was marked as a Mobile hotspot in Data Manager. If Wifi or mobile network was selected it would sync.

Anyone notice this behavior?

Just forget your home WiFi network and reconnect it and go to Data Manager to see if it has been marked as a Mobile hotspot.
