Hi just want to ask you guys..my AT&T upgrade is up now and I am looking to get a new phone (I have HTC one right now and love it) I just looking for the note3 when the phone come out...Should I go to regular 2 years upgrade or should I go to AT&T next? I know that the next plan more expensive but I don't have to wait 2 years to get a new phone...What u guys think?

I have read mixed reviews about those kind of upgrade plans. Several sites have shown that it can be more expensive, because you have essentially leased the phone for a few months.

all depends. do you want to add US$25-US$40 per month to your bill just to be able to upgrade in 12 moths?
I keep in the know on at&t and feel that this program has it pluses and its minuses.

my opinion is that it's not really worth it. but, for you, it may be the way to go.

Just do the math figure out if its worth it or not for you. me it was because I cannot stand waiting for my upgrade and I am also a poor ******* that lives check to check and can't shell out 550$ or so for a phone

It really just depends if you can happily go two years.

Essentially you would be paying a good bit over a 2 year contract price for one year of "renting" a phone. You have to use it to exchange towards a new one. You don't get to keep the old one.

Edit: You get to keep it if you pay 20 months (Approx $500ish) but you have to use it to trade in if you pay any months less than that.

I prefer to pay the two year contract price. Own the phone and resell it for a little bit at my next upgrade. 2 years after getting a phone will get me a better phone than 12 months down the road anyway.

Just my two cents.

While it's not a very popular way of upgrading I've recently started just buying my device's at retail. While it is expensive at first I think in the long run it'll be best at least for myself. 6 month's to go for my contract to be up, after that I may jump to Tmobile for the cheaper plans.

Tmobile JUMP is worth it because it's every six months and your bill decreases because the decoupled the phone subsidy from the service price. Once phone is paid off, you pay less. AT&T and Verizon just charge you more every month and when phone is paid off the bill doesn't go down. Do you're essentially paying twice for the phone over 20 months and keep paying after that.
