Things new that I personally noticed. My phone runs much better. Less lag and glitches. The GPS icon in the notification area now says location instead of GPS. They added the kids mode, the unlock pattern is different, battery life better, side sync 3.0, virtual tour mode in the camera and Knox 2.0. I've been told there was some bloatware added too. Also safety assistant but I haven't seen it. I just don't know what or care. I may have forgotten a few things already.

Over all I'm loving it so far. Any others want to chime in on your update experience? Things I've missed. I'm waiting for lollipop now. I hope the first version I'd better then the Kit Kat one we got.

The 4.4.4 update from AT&T was forced onto my phone in the early morning hours while it charged. I was putting it off until I heard things about it by selecting "remind me later". The update forced installed this weekend, without any action taken on my part. Now the GPS on my phone won't hold a lock and takes forever to find enough satellites. My GPS worked perfectly during my time with Android 4.4.3 and I had forgotten the woes of bad GPS.

I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't had that problem. I use the Waze navigation app everyday. Maybe try that. I also just used the stock one and again no problems. What navigation app are you using?

Mine has destroyed my battery life and Samsung wants me to send it back to them. Fat chance. I guess I wait for the next roll out.

I got a totally different bug. I use the standard sms message app. Before, when I got a message, I'd get the notification on every message. After updating, I get a text, set my phone down and leave the app open and I get no further notifications. I'll pick it up and find that I've missed 4 messages. But if I close the app, I get tones on everyone. Why the change and how can I fix it? I've search the net and nobody send to have this problem.

My battery life is noticeably better-to a point that it is significant. I haven't any glitches thus far either with any apps. My texting is fine (and I have a Samsung Gear Live too-no problems with any of this). I use Textra though not sure what difference that makes or not.

I have this problem also.

I've noticed this as well. I've always had the habit of closing the phone as soon as I'm done but a few times today I was texting with my Wife and didn't do the close. She sent a text back while it was open and I got no notification.

Lord, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. I've never been able to find any place on the internet where anyone else had that problem. It's annoying. If I'm busy, I'll get a text, answer it, set the phone down and find 5 more texts later on. And since I use texts at work for notification, this is bad.

Yeah, mine never did this until after the update.

4.4.2, custom ROM, no updater app. After reading this thread, I'm glad.

I got the update a little bit ago (days-weeks) and since then I have had a weird problem. Every time I restart my phone, it goes through the process of updating the 86 apps that it did when I got the update. It says, "Android is upgrading...." every time. photo.JPG

Has anyone had problems with YouTube since the update mines been extremely slow and videos not loading with error messages?

No problem on my end with anything on the update other than the screw up with the text message notification ringer. YouTube runs fine for me on Wi-Fi and on 4g.

Anyone notice that with 4.4.4 update, the expandable notifications are already expanded. I hate expanded notifications. Any way to turn this off?

Isn't it amazing? I get notifications that an app was just updated that had to be acknowledged to get it to shut up, but I can't get notification of a text message if I've set my phone down with the messaging app still open. Smh

I'm still with ya. I gotta make sure I hit the power button to put the phone in sleep mode so I know when the next text comes through.
