AT&T release date????

We should hear something tonight or tommorow, just a little heads up from ATT has to be coming soon. What color are all you guys getting?

I posted this question in the best buy pro order thread but realize I should have asked this question in this thread;

Does anyone know when his many months you need to be in a contract to use your early upgrade ($250 plus the cost of the contract phone)?

I agree with what you're saying, but from HTC's standpoint the S4 has a significant brand/name recognition advantage, and the hardware specs of the 2 phones are comparable. Many people will just buy the S4 because they had an S3 or b/c their friends have one or recommend it to them. The Galaxy line is a juggernaut--the One line is not.

Ideally, HTC needs to undercut the S4 price, not compete head to head with it.
The One would benefit by positioning itself as an exceptional value, not just another phone in a high price range.

The bigger point here is that AT&T has increased the on contract price of its top phones by 25% (from $200 to $250) and it's not being talked about...yet.

Well in the UK all phones are free on ?35+ contracts so would just order the most expensive to get best value for money. Only way to save money is to go down on minutes or data allowance.

AT&T is now tweeting it. Who knows. I get too excited over this $hi!

DID u click on the press released link??

omg finally some good news

I've got a question for ya or anybody. I'll be buying off contract. Never done it before. Besides paying full price how does getting a sim card for it works?? What about my pics, contacts? Exactly what is the process???

Early upgrade only applies for iPhones, and it is typically $200 less than the outright price.
The other way of doing it is to buy out your contract and upgrade normally.

im still on the fence between the s4 and htc one. not sure what im going to do. at least the one has root and you can unlock the bootloader and has a handful of roms. then again i loved the s3 and my note 2 so im also leaning towards the s4. what a dilemma.

the only downfall with the one is a non removable, replaceable battery.

How does one preorder off contract full price? Does it give you the option while preordering?

im pretty sure you cannot preorder that. if you want to pay full price just get the dev edition straight from htc. it's $650 out the door.

the mini sim you can buy at any att store for like $20 and then just activate it, about the pics and contacts the htc is supposed to have software that supposed to sync all your pics and contacts between old and new phone

If you already have a microsim then copy your contacts on it and pop it in, but if you don't have a microsim on your old phone, you'll need microsim adapters that make the microsim big enough for your old phone, then you copy your contacts on and take it out, pop it out of the adapter and put it in the one.

i dont think htc uses microsims

Re: AT&T release date????

Finally! At least we have a (hopefully) firm date in stores. I would like to know what SIM it uses and the off contract price too since I no longer have an upgrade...

So long as it's not a bigger SIM than you currently have it can just be trimmed down. If your current SIM isn't an LTE SIM then you'll need a new one to get LTE anyway.

If you have a Micro sim already you just pop that into your HTC One. If not AT&T can give you one for free .. Well they didn't charge me when I did it

For contacts , just sign in with your Google account and it will sync em over.

Only if you have your contacts syncing already

For pictures etc. I can't answer that since I use DropBox
