At&t s8+ oreo messages are coming in backwards

Hi I did the oreo update and for the most part I like it but for some reason my messages come in messed up at times. like the new messages are on top of the old ones. My wife sent me a few text messages I heard the notification and looked and thought they were the ones I had already read. when she got home she asked me why I never answered her I looked back and yup I scrolled up and they were on top of the old messages. Has anyone had this problem? I am using the stock samsung message app.

I have been going back and forth with an AT&T customer years with this same issue. I'm on Sprint but it only happens from this one person using an iPhone 7. We have tried every setting possible and nothing has fixed it. I know exactly what your experiencing just sorry I can't help fix it. It's very annoying.

First thing to check is if your time is set to automatic
