AT&T Update coming thru

I spoke too soon. Phone is stuttering like crazy again on certain apps. My woman was complaining about Candy Crush. I told her she was imagining things. I installed it on my phone to test and I literally get 1/2 second freezes during the cut scenes and gameplay. It happens often, not just here or there. Anyone else with an AT&T G6 wanna try out Candy Crush and see if they have the same issues?

My battery life since the update has been awful.

My battery usage was much higher than normal the day I installed the update, but since then has been not noticeably either better or worse. Similarly, I noticed some slowdowns and pauses during that first day that I hadn't been seeing, but they are not happening anymore. I attribute that first day's difference to the amount of work being done by the phone in downloading and installing the update.

I'd tend blame apps (either included ones or 3rd party ones) for any battery problems you are seeing now - perhaps I have something disabled (I did a lot of disabling) that's behaving badly for you.

I had wifi calling with my Nexus on Project Fi before my current G6/US Cellular. I really enjoyed that but I was told by US Cellular that the G6 didn't have the hardware for wifi calling.

WiFi calling is implemented differently for each carrier, and the protocol they use has to be in the carrier flavor of the firmware for each phone. My AT&T Note 4, for example, does WiFi calling great on AT&T, but I'd need the T-Mobile version of the same phone to use WiFi calling on T-Mo (or, in the case of what I tried, Mint).

It's remotely possible but highly unlikely that the G6 doesn't have WiFi calling on USC because they depend on a specific radio or hardware feature that the G6 doesn't offer.

It's FAR more likely that they just didn't take the time to implement it in their version of the G6 firmware.

Didn't have coverage problems, but a few times people on the other end said I was breaking up. Haven't had any such complaints since thus update and it seems like I get 3 bars instead of 2 more consistently at the house.

What software version is listed? About phone - software info.

If it's H87210p... That version is J U N K junk. Severe memory problems on a ton of the G6s that have received it. It's made mine all but unusable and I'm now counting the hours until the 6P that a buddy of mine let me use comes in the mail. Then it's as matter of weeks before this goes back and gets replaced by a new Pixel XL 2.
