at&t white one x vs sprint lte

I like the looks of the OneX much better, but the added features of the EVO. But I will end up putting it in a TPU case anyways so it doesn't really matter that much.

Point blank, if the Evo 4G LTE had the same matte tone above the kickstand as below we wouldn't even be having this conversation. That being said, I view this as a temporary problem. Remember, most of us are going to be stuck with this phone for 22 months. I expect by the end of the year that there will be a after market option to switch out the sd card slot cover. Sprint is not stuipid. They see how many people would pay for something like that. I don't think they'd pass up the opportunity to charge $15 bucks for a small piece of plastic with an embedded radio antenna.

One disappointment of mine that's rarely mentioned is the lack of silver highlight on the "HTC" imprint on the back side of the Evo LTE. I still have the original Evo and that small detail definately makes the "HTC" pop more.

I'm proud of my HTC and I like for people to see that I have one from across the room. It's a conversation piece.

Saying all that I would never threaten to leave Sprint because the look of a phone. Much like I wouldn't leave my girlfriend if she gained a few pounds. The DC market will get LTE by the end of the year and after that all will be good. The faster I sign the contract the faster the 22 month clock starts ticking for me to get the next generation of Android device. As it is, I've been able to upgrade since April 1st.

All that that need to see is the red ring...Point taken :-)

A few do, but the majority don't. The new androidpolice review tore apart the design. I think it would be a pretty big landslide on a poll comparing the aesthetics.

100% in agreement. The majority DO care, as that design in just soooooo "elephant man uglyyyyyy"...lol

If it were boring, that would be one thing, but to have it be so loud AND ugly, well, all i can say is i went and got the WHITE One X, and the dang phone makes me smile everytime i see it just sitting in its dock, nevermind when i actually use it...i am in HOG Heaven...lol

i was already on AT&T, but with the EVO i was going to switch to friends Sprint plan and save 50+ bucks a month, but between their horrible service, ugly azz version of The ONE, i figured 1.50 a day is a small price to pay for a "killer design on a phone thats available TODAY & not hung up in some customs debacle for who knows HOW long," and is running on a "blazing fast network."... Unlimited data, lower costs & ugly designs do not outweigh the pros for this lil gal.... :p

There's a better than average chance that there will be aftermarket back covers to replace the shiny one (sorry if this was already brought up); so if that is really the only reason that some people aren't buying it, it seems a little silly.

And I get the argument "Well, why should I need to buy it? It should have come with it in the first place!" Really, I get it. But come on... there comes a point where people sound like they're just trying to convince themselves not to buy it. And that's cool. Don't buy it. Not every phone will appeal to everyone.

And I still don't buy the "Majority of people hate the design" comments, if only for the fact that there are reviewers that actually like it. Not to mention a good number of people in these forums (myself included).

Agreed, I'm one of those forum members who likes the design!

While I prefer the One X to the Evo LTE in terms of looks, I think it is absolutely crazy to pay $50/month for the One X because of it. That's $600 over a 2 year contract period.

I felt same before i made her go thru the trouble of adding me to her acct... In my area, there is NO WAY i could've dealt with these speeds, i'd of prolly gone bonkers (bonkers-ier : )

3 days with the Epic Touch, i ran begging & pleading back to AT&T ..."Me: "You mean to tell me for a mere 50 bucks MORE a month and i can actually USE my smartphone WHENEVER i want? WHERE do i REsign?" lol

But i do not mean to offend anyone. Looks like the ban is lifted on y'alls device, and if Sprint is halfway decent in ur area, looks like y'all will be falling in love all over again. The EVO will be JUST AS AMAZING as the One X, if not more with its Micro SD Card and lil Camera button, (long as you put a bag over her head).. oops, did i say that OUTLOUD?! j/k.. its allll good!

Well, yeah, if a netowrk doesn't work for you, it is not worth considering. I always advise people to choose their network and plan first, and don't even think about the phones available until after.

I'm wondering if everyone that is saying they dont like the design has held the device yet?

While i was iffy about the look of the phone, all doubt was lifted once i seen it at BB. I like the look of the One X but to me i like the Evolte much more

I recently switched to at&t and loveeeeeeeeee the OneX and LTE. I was paying about $56 a month for Sprint and now paying $52 on at&t b/c of a four person family plan with corp discount.

I was with Sprint for a little over 10yrs and thought I would never switch. I've never really had issues with Sprint service until they got the iphone. Their 3G in the Charlotte area was excellent and I never needed to use 4G.

Once the iphone was released on their network, 3G speeds here dropped to near nothing. I had to always use 4G if I wanted a fast connection. I figured if I stayed with Sprint, it would take them awhile to get LTE up and running and their 3G just isn't cutting it anymore. Couple that with the horrid design and paying the $10 despite no LTE, I didn't think I could stay with Sprint.

So far I haven't had any issues with at&t. I no longer have any of the Sprint dead zones, but I'm sure I may fine some new at&t dead zones. However, the highways I use now no longer have the dead zones I use to deal with.

Plus the biggest thing is LTE. I had no idea that LTE was this fast. LTE here feels like your always on an N-Wifi Network. LTE is blazing fast and the phone is blazing fast. Plus the design.... Wow the design looks even better once you actually own it.

It's hard to believe I'm no longer a Sprint subscriber. I've been a long time loyal customer. However, now I have the OneX with it's intended design, and it's beyond belief battery life. I'm so use to always charging my E3D or E4G. This phone is such a breath of fresh air. I get 18hr use with the screen on 60% of the time. The same pretty heavy usage with the E3D would of had me on my 2nd battery.

To say the least, I am blown away by the battery life, design, screen, LTE, and voice on the At&t OneX.

I kept my E3D just in case I wanted to go back to Sprint within the first 30days or if I wanted to go back in general. However, I'm thinking my E3D will just be kept as a reminder of a great service history with Sprint. I really enjoyed their service and will miss it.

even tho i am one of the "naysayers" on that design, i think you make an EXCELLENT point : )
Don't go with another phone UNTIL you actually hold it/use it, "up close and personal"...

Cannot tell you how many times i have watched a video review of an electronics item and was SHOCKED by how much diff it was in person (sometimes wayyyy better, sometimes wayyyy worse)

Crossing my fingers for all of y'all that this item will be wayyyy better : )

I've held it. All of the Best Buy's here already have their ElTE mockups. I believe the pictures look better than the actual device. In hand and in person, it makes you wonder how they could scrap the OG design for this new one.

After being able to hold it and see what it looks like in person, I was resolute in my decision to switch.

That's also because BB has dummy units that don't have the same build quality or a working screen. Not sure if that matters if you've already made up your mind

Well it's HTC, I'm not too worried about the build quality or the screen. All the reviews chimed on the same thing, which is they loved the screen. I just wanted to see and check out the design. I didn't like the design at all in the pictures and now that I've seen it in person, I believe the pictures look a lot better than the actual device.

I'm on the opposite side. After holding the dummy phone at Best Buy it made me want the phone even more. Counting the minutes before I have my hands on my Evo 4G LTE

Sent from my antique Evo 3D which can now be found at the Smithsonian
