Here's another of the corner of Virginia and Highland -- which would normally be jammed on a Wednesday night. Note the amount of snow necessary to shut it down.

That does not look like a lot of snow. I suppose it is for Atlanta but it certainly does not look like enough to shut down the streets.

It's not much snow and, at least where I live, it was snow (as opposed to ice) on that deserted Wednesday night. The thing is Atlanta had a monumental storm two weeks earlier that left a lot of people stranded for 12 to 16 hours.

If you look closely at the photos I posted, you can see that it's not ice. It was possible to drive on it with the right vehicle.

Over here in the UK we've had much worse snow than we're used to in recent years, but nothing compared to what you guys get. The whole country grinds to a halt over here as we still can't cope and seem to get caught out every year. Those photos look amazing (partly due to the fantastic N5 I hope it hasn't caused too much disruption. My brother lives in New Hampshire and they seem to get a good downfall most years too.

I'm from Scotland, but all we've had is rain and wind! think we saw snow for a couple of hours but thats been it. hate the rain aswell.
