Same here, I hope they let me grandfather my unlimited, it would be great to have unlimited free tether once its rooted.

They can't prevent you. You just tell them no plan changes. I've done it for so long with AT&T/Cingular.

Yup. If you do it online.. you just leave your options there if you already have unlimited data. You shouldn't have a problem with getting unlimited data.

I called them a few weeks ago and they told me that I could not keep my unlimited data. I hope this doesnt turn into a big pain in the @$$.

If that does turn out to be the case then I definitely will either leave att and get an android device elsewhere or stay with att and go the iPhone route. Would rather have an atrix with my grandfathered unlimited data but if not, I am ready to make a jump.

My issue is that I have a Blackberry Unlimited Data plan WITH 1000 SMS/MMS combo that they do not offer any longer. I asked and they told me that I couldn't use the blackberry unlimited data with an android and that I would have to change my plan to include an android friendly data option.

Is anyone in a similar boat? Or can you offer advice on what I can do to get them to retain my blackberry plan specifications with the Atrix?

Try asking AT&T what are the differences between the BB unlimited data plan and iPhone/smartphone unlimited data plans.

I decided to call them back, and I made a little bit of fuss to be fair, but woman told me they could retain unlimited data but would have to split off text messages (which isn't an issue). So, $30 for unlimited data and $10 for 1000 texts instead of $40 for unlim data and 1500 texts. I don't use near that many texts anyways so I don't see that as a problem. Atrix 4G here I come!

With AT&T launching the Inspire on the 13th, would they still launch the Atrix in February being that it's so close to the launch date of the Inspire or hold off until March?

Guy at the AT&T Platinum store said they were demo'd the phones Monday and AT&T starts selling them the 12th. Said he would have some in their store on the 13th (Feb) and the phone + laptop dock bundle will be $500.

Take it with a grain of salt. I just hope he's right about the 2/12 date.

Me too! I went to my store yesterday and asked and the most info they had was that it was supposed to be by the end of the quarter.
I would think if it would have been the 12th they would have said something when they announced the Inspire. I could be wrong though and I hope I am.

Here's hoping it's sooner than later. I'm tempted to go get the inspire and swap it for the atrix when the atrix comes out. My 3GS is killing me

I had an att rep tell me he would be getting an atrix this week. I'm heading over there Friday afternoon, which is when he's supposed to have it by.
