Garmin mount

I went to Best Buy and bought a suction cup mount. You're right in that the ball mount is the same diameter as the Atrix's car mount. The sales person told me they are universal. I have a Camry and the windshield was sort of out of arm's reach so the original windshield mount didn't work for me. With the Garmin mount, the suction cup part is smaller and I can actually mount it on the face of my stock car stereo.

The only issue is that I came out this morning and the mount had come off the stereo face. I think this is because I forgot to clean the surface with alcohol. Will try that later and remount it.

I ended up getting the beanbag style Garmin Friction Mount. It's hard to argue with almost 3800 reviews and 85% of people rating it 5 stars. I love the setup so far.

Where did you get that mount? I don't think there's a spot in my car where that particular one would work well but would like to see what other ones are available. Thanks.

Sorry for not replying sooner... I don't log in here too often. I just grabbed that mount from someone through amazon. I still haven't got everything set-up the way I'd like as I haven't had the time to hard wire everything. I was really happy to see that the garmin mounts worked.

Car Dock Icon?

Can anyone tell me where I might find the car dock Icon, mine seems to have disappeared and I can't find the icon any longer... i know it used to be there though.

there is an app, in the official app store, called Car Mode, it will give you access to the car dock mode.

I bought ($6) this vent mount for my car dock. It replaces the windshield mount that came with the dock. This works better for me because the windshield mount made it a long reach to touch the phones screen. With this vent mount it's the perfect distance in my car.

The other thing I noticed was that the phone used to get hot while using Nav and listening to Pandora on a trip. Now it keeps cool since their is cool air blowing over the phone.

I bought the car dock at Fry's last week. It had a motorola branded dual USB charger in the box. Either someone returned it by accident in the box of the unit I bought (seems odd) or Motorola got the memo and started including one (seems more likely).

I've had an adhesive mount for my Garmin GPS on my dash for the last three years. Popped the garmin receptacle off and popped this right on. Worked like a charm.

Edited to add: Checked the Motorola web site. Dual-port rapid USB power adapter is part of the basic package now.

It would be great if they would give the dual-port USB charger to those that bought the car dock before they included it. I have found that many of the cigarette lighter adapters sold today don't put out enough power to charge my phone while it's in the dock.

Works good, charges the phone, controls the phone completely from the remote. Only time you have to touch the phone itself is to change the app your using.

I'm considering getting this. Are you connecting the remote to the phone via blue-tooth or the line in jack?
