Ok, just called the local store for info. Preorders in store or online. Pay for the device upfront. The full $199 plus tax.

Is there any cancelation/restocking fees if you cancel the pre order? Can you choose whether the pre order is sent to you or is their an option for store pick up? Which is faster?
No penalty for cancelling a preorder other than it will surely get screwed up. Also lot of mail issues for the Galaxy Note pre ordering. I just went to a store on launch day and got one. This phone may be more popular on launch day though.
I may just have to wait until I can make it to the store tomorrow. Don't want to risk my unlimited plan online. I can go at lunch, should be good enoigh to preorder.
Are you talking about going to BB store or AT&T store? I have the unlimited data plan also and don't want to risk it either.
ATT store. Wife got a phone at Walmart and we had to call ATT while we were at the store to make sure we could keep unlimited. Many of these stores just have a set list of plans to choose from-unlimited not on the list.
Don't know about BB, but I prefer the ATT store anyway.

I pre-ordered the One X online through AT&T and it was easy as can be to select LTE Unlimited (coming from BlackBerry unlimited). I tend to trust online over the people at the stores... Pretty sure you can act like you're pre-ordering your phone online and check out the data plan options without actually going through with the order if you want.

So there was an option for the unlimited data plan?
Yup, remember I was grandfathered in.
So you would have to log into your account on the AT&T website and it would have the option to pre order and select your unlimited data plan(LTE)?
