ATT S3 update

Just got the update. I'm not going to install it. Even though I've only had my SIII for a day I see no problems that need to be fixed by an update and I love the universal search to much to lose it. This whole deal with Apple suing everybody is what made me decide to switch to Android. It is so ridiculous. It's like they are trying to become a monopoly which I thought was ILLEGAL in the US. Oh well sooner or later they will get theirs. Hopefully their next cryandsueeveryonePhone will fail

Just postponed the update again...it now says I've selected a maximum of 3 postpones - update will start in 8 hours.

I guess I should have just kept ignoring it instead of actually postponing it!

EDIT: Just felt the phone vibrate and it turned itself on and began updating without a prompt. Oh well!

Okay unlocked my s3 so I can use on tmobile how can I get the update? Can I use Kies? Stock btw

Nothing is forever. My iPhone toting kid wants the S3. Says it is better now than the new iPhone will be when released.

I still have not received the update, i check for updates and i am told it cannot connect to the update server and it says it will check automatically in the next 48hrs. Not sure if this is bad or not, i like the universal search, but i would like the radio updates as well.

Same thing here. No ota push and when I search it says can't connect and will auto check in next 48 hours. Any ideas?

Check it with 3g. When I do it with WiFi it says the same thing and I too have not gotten it either. My wife did on Sunday.

How do you enable 3g? Mine always says 4g on it, i have tried 4g, LTE, wifi, i think my phone just wants to live free and has made a internal choice to not get this update.

Same thing. I think he meant to try the update on the cell network and not have wifi enabled. I have not seen the update either and attached the Kies and it said I have the latest so I guess it is just OTA. Not that I want to install it yet but what is the build number after the update?

My build is IMM76D.I747UCALEM

Edit: saw the new build on XDA.

3g and 4g are the same. 4g lte is 4g. Everything else is hspa or hspa+.

I installed this apk. I get the functionality but after a while it disappears? Anyone with the same experience?

Is there another way around but like installing a launcher or something?

It goes away when you reboot your phone, you have re run the file.

I'm still holding out on the upgrade. My radio works just fine, signal where I need it. Besides, I like thumbing my nose at Apple and ATT, so a two-fer is just too rich to pass up. Noticed something though. I read a suggestion to limit processes to 4 using the Developer options in settings. In theory this speeds up the phone. When I did, the reminder to update popped up every 10 seconds or so. Went back to "standard" and that stopped. Now I'm back to "thumbing" the home button to clear the update alert maybe once a day and after a reboot.

Yup, still can't get this update. Tried OTA (only on cell network, Hawaii 4g - LTE taking forever) and it gives me the same wait 48 hours message. Plugging into KIES it says there is an update available -> plug in phone -> connects, click firmware upgrade -> gets to 100% then gives error message every time. Something like can't reach the server. It's different from the OTA error message too...........

Tried with 4g + wifi , 4g, wifi, and both off. None of the combos work.

Any ideas?

I got my S3 on 6/23 and still havent received the update and I am rocking the universal search. I've checked manually a couple times and it says I'm up to date. Unrooted FYI.
