Attaching a flash drive to Note7

Has anyone attached a microUSB flash drive to this? I attempted to using the usb-C to micro-usb adapter provided with the phone and the phone never acknowledged connection. Connected the flash drive to the Note4 and it worked instantly.
Any ideas?

I had the same ting happen (minus the Note 4). I also had a flash drive that had a usb c end of its own and that one the Note 7 said it was charging but would not acknowledge it as an attached drive.

Just figured it out! The usb-C to micro-usb is not for this purpose. The usb-C to USB (A?) is the right connector and it snaps into the port. Doesn't work with the case on the phone.

Never even thought about this until this post and yes it works

It works fine on both my wife and I phones. I do have to remove my thin case but not my wife's case.
