Attn sprint hero owners!

Don't know about anyone else but this was huge news to me. Just went to my local sprint store to check out the EVO and feel jealous. After talking to the sales person and expressing this jealousy, she asked what phone I had and when I bought it. When I told her I've had the hero since Oct, she smiled and informed me that I most likely was a Premier Customer and that I would be able to upgrade this Oct!! I told her that I thought to be premier, you had to be a customer for ten years. She then told me that if you have a data heavy plan, like the unlimited data plan, and have made payments on time for 3, yes, 3 consecutive MONTHS, you are now a premier customer, and can upgrade your phone EVERY 12 MONTHS! that is huge news for us hero owners. though I do love my hero, just thinking about having the beautiful EVO in just 4 short months makes my day, my week, my month and my year! Ok i'm done, just thought everyone should know.
 
To be a premier customer:

For three consecutive months, consumer customers must be on an individual wireless plan of at least $69.99 per month or spend at least $99.99 per month on a plan that shares minutes. (before add-ons)

Or

Must have been a Sprint wireless customer for at least 10 years.
 
Yeah, it's true. To check, log into your sprint account, and there will be a Sprint Premier logo in the upper-right corner on your account page if you have qualified.

By the way, my Premier logo just started showing up last month because it takes 6 months to qualify if you are a new Sprint customer. Sure enough, when I check my upgrade date, it is in October. Now I'm just wondering if there will be something better than the EVO out for the holiday season. Dual core Snapdragons, anyone?
 
By the time I am eligible for an upgrade the EVO will be like the Hero. Good thing about it though is that the phone I get will by that time be worked on by dev's a lot. :-)
 
I'm eligible now to get the evo but not sure if I will wait for something better in a couple months.

Also: Only the 'main' line of a family $99+ plan will be considered 'premier' and be eligible to upgrade every year. All other lines are treated as normal and update every two years.

All other lines that are not premier are available for 'half upgrades' at the one year mark, and what that basically means is you can upgrade, but add $75 onto the upgrade price. (A free upgrade phone is $75, the evo is $275, etc)
 
I have been a Premier customer since they came out with the program, every December i get the newest phone on the market at the time. I went from the Katana to the Instinct and now have the Hero. I can not wait till December to see what the newest phone that is out there then so i can get it! I love the fact that i get a new phone every year!!
