Attn: Those grandfathered w/ unlimited data

I'm keeping this bad boy for a while. Still happy with its performance and size.

I am in no hurry to spend $$$ on a new phone.

I refuse to give up my unlimited data so I'll be buying mine used for the foreseeable future.

Don't give up the unlimited. 2 years from now the amount of data we'll be consuming will make spending 600 on a phone will look cheap.

Lol 2 years from now nobody will have unlimited plans.. We have that "loophole" now where we can pay full price for phones to keep that plan, but I'm certain they will not last much longer.

I know Im late but just happened to read some of the comments. I have unlimited data and text right now. I have been with verizon well over 10+ years. So you're telling me that if I choose to upgrade or sign another contract when I get another phone (Have nexus now) that I will "lose" my unlimited plan? Sorry to highjack the thread but I just wanted some clarification because if so thats some BS and where did everyone get that info.?

Yup per verizons new rules if you use a upgrade and get a subsidized phone you will not keep unlimited data. You have to be moved to a tiered plan.

In reference to OP, the Note2 is an interesting proposition. I like the concept of a large screen "phone". I rarely make phone calls (and usually use bluetooth when I do). And I rarely operate my phone with one hand. The hold up would be global compatibility. There are very few options for global LTE phones.

On the other hand, I can't see giving up the large data bucket (unlimited data plan). I purchased my current phone off contract, and have been out of contract with VZW for over two years now. LTE doesn't seem useful to me if I can't stream videos, video chat, and otherwise abuse the bandwidth without hitting a data cap. I am also a 10+ year VZW customer. If the decide to cancel my unlimited plan,I am gone. I may leave anyway. I've been thinking about opening an account with Cricket. If they work out, I'll cancel VZW and just get a global SIM for travel.
