Audio playing in pocket

I'm not sure this is unique to the Note 8, but every once and a while I'll be walking around at the office or sitting in a meeting and my Note 8 starts to play audio. I don't know why it's going off but it can be kind of embarassing. I have Pocketcasts and Google Play Music. Is there any way I can prevent audio from accidentally playing while it's in my pocket? I usually power off my device while in meetings because I don't trust the device to remain silent.

Do you think the phone is being awakened accidentally by a Power button press or a screen tap? If so, it might be happening due to a series of inadvertent screen touches. Are there any settings to prevent the screen from waking if it knows it's in your pocket? Or can you set the screen to turn on to a swipe to unlock screen, which is more unlikely to be accidentally swiped successfully?

First question - are you using a lock (pin, password, etc.)? If you are, I'm not sure how you would be activating music with inadvertent taps. The only pathway to that from the lock screen I can think of is the widget you get when you tap the ambient display and then slide left. That would be pretty impressive pocket action.

Second question - do you have Bluetooth anything connected to your phone?

If the OP is using a screen lock, but has the Automatically Lock interval set to something long (like 30 minutes), then it's still possible that the screen could be unlocking with an inadvertent tap if enough time hasn't elapsed yet from the when the screen was turned off.

I think I figured it out. I think the notification shade leaves Pocketcast play/pause visible. I don't know how it becomes visible while in my pocket. Maybe the screen turns on when a notification comes in? Anyway, I just turned off notifications for the app and now it doesn't appear in the shade any longer.

While my Note 8 hasn't done this (yet?), the S7 Edge I have will do it all the time. I'm like....where's that music coming from....

It's not on the new Touchwiz. It's irritating. Even the budget phones. I'm using a J7 pro right now for testing (looking for all its quirks as my mom asked me to set it up for her), this uses the same TW version as Note 8, just less features but AOD is similar. The J7 somehow pauses my music or skips to next. On testing I realize that when you leave media on the notification bar, when the AOD activates automatically on auto screen off (not press lock), the first thing that comes out before the clock is the media controls for a second. The problem is that unlike the S7 which uses a double tap to control AOD, a single tap is sufficient for the new AOD. This creates a lot of pocket controls IMO. I've taken to pocketing the phone screen facing out to alleviate but not really fond of that. Looks. Like this may need a wallet type case or put it in the same pocket as a handkerchief (if you're the type to not dirty yours or keep a spare) and place it between phone face inside of pocket.
