Audio video out via USB?

No sir. You can only have your head unit play the compressed music files on your Evo.

You may be able to get the head unit to play mp3 files off the EVO if you set it in mass storage mode, but you can't stream music like Pandora or Slacker over USB.

Hmm. I don't think it'll go only because the usb will make the phone think its either charging or connected to a comp. the headphone Jack is the only way to go with audio.

I could only get it to charge. It will not see it as storage to play mp3. A 2010 car all high tech with a usb port but no 3.5mm jack. That just sux for me. No pandora but I can fill up a large usb thumb drive and load up music that way. Thank you for the input!

What kind of car is it and what year.

I don't know about fancy new cars, but I was finally able to upgrade my Toyota Echo's factory radio this year, and got one with both aux jack and USB port (for charging purposes; the cigarette lighter doesn't work), and discovered the first time I plugged in my Evo to charge, it automatically starts playing music. Doesn't seem to matter where the files are located (it occasionally pulls random GPS instructions from previous trips, or audiobook chapters), but in general it works pretty well as a source of music. I haven't found any way to really control what's playing, beyond "normal" and "random" rotations.
