Authentication problems with WiFi on my Blu android phone

Every time I try to connect to a WiFi network on my new Blu Android phone I keep getting an " authentication problem" response, how do I correct this?

It sounds like you're trying to connect to a password-protected WiFi hotspot. Have you successfully connected to it in the past? If so, then you should know (or have access to someone else who knows) the password.
