I have a Ford using Sync and yesterday when my phone connected I received a message that sync was asking about access to SIM and before I could read the whole thing or answer the notification went away. It seems like the phone works through bt, but I am not receiving texts through sync. I am using Google messenger for texts. Any ideas how to get text messages working again in car?

I have a Kia with UVO and could not make SMS work with my Pixel xl yet. I don't know if it will ever work. Worked like a charm on my Note 4 so I can't understand why it is not working now. Really annoying.

Does anybody have Pixel working with SMS blutooth?

Mine works with Ford Sync. Have to push the stupid button on the Sync to play it though.

My Pixel has been not connecting automatically. Have been having to switch bluetooth off and then on again to get it going.

BTW, after the phone and car connect, the phone should show a message about allowing messages to be shown. Maybe that's the step you are missing with your Ford and Sync not working as you want.

Hey you guys with Ford sync, could you do me a favor? CAn you confirm if google maps in "wifi only" mode works with android auto? i.e., when you have android auto on, and projecting your phone into your sync screen, when you use maps, does it still honor the "wifi only" offline mode, or does projecting to the car somehow push it back into regular google maps mode?

I have a new truck coming with Sync 3, and really want to know. Since i am a huge fan of google maps' wifi only mode.

Update on this - to answer my own question, yes, if maps is left in WiFi only, Android auto will be WiFi only as well. Neat.
