Auto Brightness Disables Itself

I've had my G5 for about 3 weeks now and just love it! However, I have an issue that is perplexing.

As the title suggests, on occasion, my setting to automatically determine brightness gets disabled. I usually notice this in the morning on my way in to work; the screen is set to low brightness and the checkbox to set it to auto has been cleared. I have to re-enable auto brightness nearly every day.

Has anyone else run into this? Is there a strange setting I'm missing somewhere?

Bonus Question: Has anyone found a way to adjust the brightness of the always-on display? It's almost completely useless unless in direct sunlight.

Just purchased my G5 last night and have this same issue. Didn't notice until I was standing in the sun this morning with auto brightness disabled. It just went haywire and started adjusting itself.

Tagging along on this......

I don't recall if mine got unchecked but I do recall the base line changing itself

Same issue. Auto brightness seems to disable itself. With me this happens when shutting down the phone and putting it back on. I also noticed it doesn't remember the screen timeout settings. Very strange.

Any ideas?

I had issues with the light sensor (slow to set the brightness and always too low for the ambient light) but I never found it cleared from "auto".
I installed "Velis Auto Brightness" (disabling the default "auto brightness" of the OS) and it's working very well.
Regards,

Roberto
