Auto-brightness not working?

It could just be me, but auto brightness doesn't seem to be doing anything on my Z3c. Even with the "adapt to lighting conditions" box checked, the brightness never seems to change on its own.

Anyone else noticing this? Am I missing another check box somewhere?

Is there anything obscuring the ambient light sensor (which would be somewhere near the front-facing camera or earpiece)? Like a dirty screen protector, or a case that doesn't fit quite right?

I use the app Lux on my Z3c, works much better than stock auto brightness with many settings to alter the way it reacts. Main change I suggest is to switch Lux to adjust dynamically, from there making changes is up to the user.

Mine isn't working well either. No screen protectors on mine. I'm constantly adjusting the brightness and it's getting rather annoying.

I have same issue. I have to manually dim the brightness when using it at night, in bed.

Wondering if we are the only ones or nobody else has noticed. It's a pretty annoying bug.

No you are not alone, plenty of people mention the same thing on XDA and installing Lux app fixes it with a lot more control as well.

Ive tried that app. Not very reliable for me. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. Sony needs to fix the bug.

If you didn't change the app to adjust "Dynamically" then it will only adjust the first time the screen turns on, they should have this as the default setting IMO.

Yes. I set it to update dynamically. Found it to be unreliable.

Yeah I tried Lux, too, and I agree, it's unreliable. It would work for a while, then randomly crank the brightness to the lowest level even outdoors. Then it would brighten again. I uninstalled it.
