I've tried using the auto brightness setting on my tab in several indoor locations, but it's always too dim for me. Is there a way to adjust the threshold the auto setting uses? I've tried several things but nothing seems to adjust it.

No way to adjust the threshold that I know of...but set the brightness to manual is an option. Mine was bright as hell in auto.

I tried AUTO for a few hours and it never got it right. I put a brightness widget on my home screen and just adjust it manually as needed.

FYI... it's the same situation with a lot of phones.

It's called "Brightness Toggle Widget" - you tap it to change brightness levels. It's round. I tried a few but this one seemed to work right on the TABlet.

When i first got my tab at the best buy exclusive I didn't have any problems with it with the exception that the auto brightness was constantly adjusting so dramatically to the point where it even looked like the screen was flcikering and it would get so dark i could not see it. So i ran a reset very quickly and i've never had the problem ever since. It's not like they test the functionality of every tablet when it comes from the factory. I think they should make it standard that the day you take it out the box and start it up for the first time that it runs an automatic reset or something, just to make sure everything is functioning cause it sucks to start using it and have to all set up to realize that you need to run a reset to have it optinmal.

I run the brightness in manual as well because auto is darker than I would like.

Don't need a widget. Clicking on the time in the tray gives you the slider options one of which is for brightness.

I just noticed in the display settings there is an auto adjust battery saving feature that works on top of the auto brightness, that might also be your issue.

i agree with the post about auto brightness sensor being overly sensitive. it drove me crazy adjusting all the time as i rotate and turn the tab.
