Seems like an admission by Samsung that either their or Google's underlying system lacks adequate garbage collection.

Never turned it on...never needed it...never activated on its own...nothing burger.
It's good for users that load the phone with lot of apps, photos to the device which can cause hiccups

So literally you never reboot unless an update requires it? You've never had any performance lag or any hiccups, etc? I reboot once a week on average if I think an app is wonky or something seems glitchy.
I never had either unless software update or had to for play system update or in that nature but not for performance issues

I have never done that I don't even know where to find that setting
Device care

I don't have a lot of apps installed, but then, I'm not sure what constitutes 'a lot'. I assume that's probably subjective. I also do not play games on my phone.

But, once in a while, things go off track. Yesterday, an app popped up to confirm a login to my account. I accepted, shut the app down & continued on. About an hour later I picked up my phone & wondered what happened to all my battery. 😳 I'm not sure how, but the app that asked to confirm my login managed to suck down 14% of my battery. It was up for probably 10 seconds, but obviously, it didn't shut down properly & ran amuck. It's never done that before. So I performed the force stop, clear cache & reboot routine.

I seem to manually reboot at least once a week.
😊

I haven't used auto restart in a long time. Before when I did use it it would restart at night when I am sleeping and then my alarm wouldn't go off. So ever since then I just manually restart when ever I think I need it. Haven't had any problems and even with the S24 ultra I'll just restart manually.
