Auto restarting after setting setcpu

After I change the settings in setcpu my phone auto restarts and it won't stop. I want to overclock my phone real bad, but I don't know what else to do. I used to be overclocked when I was running vaelpak. But I ran into a problem and I had to flash another rom. Someone please help!

What did you change? Did you uninstall and reinstall yet? Reboot too? Try that overclock widget in market if you can't get setCPU to work

I changed the speed of the processor on the first screen right when you open it. I didn't set profiles or anything. I tried to reinstall and it didn't do anything. Then I did try that overclock widget from the market but out got really laggy and I was only gettin like sixteen mflops. So I uninstalled it. I'll try it again and see what happens. But if anyone knows a way to get set cpu to work for me without the constant reboots that would be awesome.

Okay so overclock widget is worthless. Just tried it again and it just makes my phone run slower after I "overclock". Someone please help me to get setcpu to work. This is driving me crazy!

Yea thats why i didnt use it either...hmm..What rom/kernel are you using?

You probably clocked to an unstable speed. Try 1.15GHz and see how that plays for you.

The highest I've ever been able to go without bootlooping and all kinds of other crappy stuff is 1.19 but i think that might have been a fluke cause if i used the same ROM and same kernel right now to do it i would bootloop (I've tried)

I was using vaelpak and i was OCd to 1.19 and it ran great. I started having a problem with that rom so i flashed Calkulins EViO 2 v1.2, not sure on what kernal. After i switched roms my battery doesnt seem to be lasting as long either for some reason. And i have an aftermarket Sedio one, the 1700. What rom and kernal are you using right now? Im in the mode to just start flashing and flashing until i find something i like a lot. I want a balance between Performance and Battery Mercy. Any suggestions?????

Def. Overclocked to unstable speed. If you want the best of both worlds best bet is probably com along with kings kernel# 1,2 you could do snap also bit not exactly the best battery saver. Try different ones and figure out which one you like. Stay at or below 1900, no need for more than that anyways. That wont help your battery though..

I am running SetCPU 2.2.4 autodetect for my rooted Evo 4g (ROM MynsWarm 2.2). Anyone have suggested setting for me? I just rooted yesterday and have never operated a rooted phone. Also.... any other "must" have app suggestions would be great as well!
