nope!

after the first round should i select "start update"? the instructions do not say to. just to "press power when prompted to reboot" but i don't get that option unless i select "cancel update" and i was nervous to press "start update"
on the second round though the instructions say "select start update"

thanks for swift response!

Yes ,when ever given the option to start update ,do so

Thanks

Thanks DroidXcon for this. Also thanks to Forgetful. I found that my 1st download of autoroot was not complete. When I downloaded it again I found the first was missing a lot of files. I am now rooted!

I have noticed that the reception in get now is lower than before root. At home I constantly got 3g and now the phone displays 1X all the time. I rebooted a few times. Any thoughts?

look at the front page of android central

Thanks! I was freaking out over here. It's funny that it would coincide with me rooting. The article also anwered my question "why is my verizon blackberry for work doing okay?".

I guess I will wait it out before I freak out. Thanks again.

When I got home I re-ran auto roo from step three and thay resolved the problem! I was working on a laptop so I figured it was probably a connection problem. Idk why laptops are so bad about that, probably above my pay grade.

so once again thanks for the incredible work you have done on this, you're making a bunch of us noobs' look smart! payday is on the first, DONATION coming your way!

also credit to those who wrote the original procedure....Thanks

First post will not be the intro one! Thank you all for your time and effort!

If the older, balding, fatter dude can root with fear and intrepidation, anyone can. Sent some funding for a nice dinner DroidXcon - YOU DA MAN!

'adb' is not recognized

every time that I try and "Start root from beginning" I get the error

'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

I have set the PATH environment variable to the TB_Auto_root folder and I still get the error.

Please help I need to ROOT!! I just got my phone and I hate having it not rooted.

What is the difference between this and a manual root? Is it safer?

it is the same as manual root just automated,,,is it safer i dont know how to answer that maybe about equal. Just pay attention to errors and follow directions and you should be fine and you can always post here for help

I tried moving the TB_auto_root folder directly to the C: drive and that didn't work.
I am running windows 7 x64
I have no reason to believe that the files were not extracted correctly. I used 7-zip which has always been faithful to me.
