[Auto] Root and Unroot (Windows)**Updated**5/20** w/MR1 update

Ok I completed the script and now it looks like I'm back to the HTC setup wizard... is there anything I should NOT select? For example, should I skip the backup assistant or click start?

What's the first thing to do to see if I am in fact rooted?

Nope not sick of them if i didnt expect follow questions i wouldnt bother making and maintaining threads like this. i know exactly what im getting myself into when i create a tutorial or a procedure.

with this latest version of auto root just look in your app drawer if you have the superuser app then you are rooted, since that app will only show up in the custom rom (unless you download it from the market). So if you see that app and you didnt install it yourself then you are rooted

I've tried clearing cache and data, uninstalling Market updates, "waiting 10 minutes", rebooting, powering down for a bit... everything.

if you dont have your data back just unroot reroot and try again, if you still have the market problem its your account

The only thing I haven't done out of all of this is pull the battery. I've already unrooted and rooted again.

I've tried to root 2 times and it's failed both times. it sees the serial number and says loading or pushing file. Sits there for a while then I get an error that says "protocol error". fails to load. then a series of erros after that.

Any suggestions on how to fix?

Protocol error happens when you are using a slow usb port, try switching to a different USB port preferably to the back of the computer, if you are using a laptop this is a bit more difficult but just try a different port until you get good results

Little confused. It says make sure phone is in charge only mode. Doesn't the phone need to the commands from your computer during the process? How's it gonna do that if you aren't connected to your computer?

debugging mode enables you to use adb (android debugging bridge) a bridge from your computer to the internal command shell is made. Also you dont want the phone set up as diskdrive because it disconnects the sdcard and mounts it to your computer, so when files try to write to the card it cant because its mounted to the computer. I hope that makes it a little clearer

Thankx Cyber Warr for the advise im going to take it already started with the themes, but i cant find a DL of Bamf 4.3a kernel by Adrynalyne the links i do find arent work ATM. Also i have setcpu but dont want to make adjustments since i dont really know what im doing any good guides on how to use it and what to set it to to run best with Bamf 4.3a kernel by Adrynalyne.

How long does it take for the root/files to get pushed to the device? I've tried several times and it fails. It's been sitting there for about 20 minutes or so.

I powered my phone down overnight and now everything seems to be working perfectly. The market is working as it should. Thanks for all of your help.
