Android newbie here. Is there a setting the I can change on my Dinc that will automatically insert a space after selecting a word during text entry? My old Omnia used to do this and I thought it was a bit of a time saver, especially with my old, slow fingers.

Not at this time. Once it's rooted you will be able to add a modded version of the keyboard that will allow you to do that plus a lot more.you could just hunt down swype and add it that way you singer have to type. It's what I use.

Holds on, I'll have to hunt down the link ya need. Give me a few minutes. In the mean time do a search for it and you may be able to find it. You want the one for the nexus one.

Or there is Smart Keyboard that also has an option to insert a space.

Smart Keyboard over all others IMO

I'm going to try to instal the modded version I have on my nexus on the incredible. I believe I mis spoke earlier when dating we need root as I don't believe this is the case. I'll post back tomorrow to see if it worked. Looking at it, it should.

Yep. Works just fine and slew of options far better than the stock keyboard. Sorry again for the previous post. Didn't think that one all the way through.

I like Swype for Android (also used it with my Omnia), but I REALLY like the voice to text option in the stock keyboard more.

I'm with you. Beauty of it tho is that Swype for the DI uses the stock keyboard. Simply longpress the compose box and select regular touch input or Swype. Native keyboard and VTT option are still there just like always.

Yeah, it is nice to be able to easily switch between the two but it would be better if you didn't have to switch to get voice to text.

How do I get the Swype for Nexus? I have the DI and still don't see it in The Market!

are you serious. The link is in the thread with instructions. Read. I would help you but you seem to have a smart mouth and want people to show and tell you everything. This comes from the other post. Take a little initiative and use the search button to teach yourself. Good luck too you.

If you get swype and go into swype settings then there is an option for auto-spacing, just check that box and you're all good.
