Auto syncing s health step challenge data

Is there any way I can get step challenge data to auto syncing even when I'm not using s health app.

I've got the challenge watch face on my gear s3 but it does not show accurate step data unless I go into the s health app and refresh it.

I'm having the same issue. Have you found a way to get the steps updated more regularly?
