Question autofill suddenly stopped working on note 8 with android apps

All of a sudden my autofill on note 8 stopped working in android apps. it works on browser. I was neversigned into my google account but i noticed that after signing in the other day, it stopped working. can this be a coincidence. seems awfully strange. please help. in four years this has never happened buti was always signed out ofgoogle account

i read somewhere that google has not set thing up so you can't sign out of their account, only deactivate it. that seems to be the case.

Well from what's it's saying on your screen you would have to set up a screen lock to edit those passwords if you don't you can't because security measures

Yes as it wants you to use a security measure, how else can it keep your password safe

I don't know how you had it before but if you want try to stop by your carrier store see if they can help out further because they will be able see the phone in person

of course but i never take my phone out with me and the way it is now you can't access the passwords.

Is there any way i could put on a lockscreen and something could go wrong unlocking it?

It asks for a pin or password?

Your device is running older software and security so keep that in mind and lot of things have changed from that time we are almost android 15

So even though the phone is obsolete, are google and chrome still updating on it?

Is the 15 what corresponds to 8?

If i ever get well a new phone will be on the list.

But I'm still not understanding if it ask for pin or password when u try to get to the password manager to access those password?

something comes up that says manage passwords with the llittle key icon, meaninng go there and pick one. but i can't access them because I don't have a lockscreen. I'm looking for an exampleooooooooooo to send y ou but so far i've only found medical apps that show my email so if somone found my phone that i don't take out of the house they wouldnt't be able to access them either right?

It's hard to determine that in the forum here , looks like at some point you used a screen lock and now it's asking for it to gain access and possibly why you can't auto fill from what I'm understanding from you , do you use secure folder?

Just have experience from personal usage on my device

a friend of mine gave me this phone. he did a factory reset and passed it on. I never had a screenlock on it, ever bc i told him i was leaving it at home, so he said that i didn't need a screen lock. (maybe not knowing that without i couldnt access passwords but they were popping up.

I never heard of secure folder.

more problems: i changed my password for a website on my laptop but the phone won't take it. I Imagine it's because i would have to edit it on the phone.
