Question autofill suddenly stopped working on note 8 with android apps

All of a sudden my autofill on note 8 stopped working in android apps. it works on browser. I was neversigned into my google account but i noticed that after signing in the other day, it stopped working. can this be a coincidence. seems awfully strange. please help. in four years this has never happened buti was always signed out ofgoogle account

i read somewhere that google has not set thing up so you can't sign out of their account, only deactivate it. that seems to be the case.

i see what happened now. Google got unchecked as password autofill and I did not touch it or change it to Samsung pass. the settings are getting changed somehow and i'm not doing it. how is this happening. i didn't even know about samsung pass. do ou think thephone flipped it over to that setting? the google saved option is workign now with a new feature that says "use strong password". that wasn't there before. I will blame google for everything and I'd like to SIGN OUT of my google account. That's what triggered all this. Google doesn't leave you alonen for five minutes. (I'm not ranting.)

this is happening quite a bit lately. Have you ever heard of this? it didn't make sense. thanks so much for your help. I would not have gotten to the solution otherwise.

Sometimes a software update or app update can change settings but now you know if it doesn't work again to check there, I'm glad I could help your welcome!
You can always send feedback in the Samsung member app but not sure they will be much help as the OS and security updates have been finished with that device for some time.

does it happen to you? do you see changes when chrome updates. if i weren't signed into google i don't think this would be going on.

Is there any way for me to close my google account? It has wrecked my ability to use the browser properly. How ironic.

If you go to settings>accounts and back up>manage accounts you can remove them

Anything Google used your account won't be associated with it

I can3t even use the password manager which comes up all the time now because i dont have a lock screen set on this phone i never have used the password manager.

I'm not understanding why you can't use a password manager because you don't have a Lock screen? The 2 are different and you changed over to Google's password manager I thought with our last chat.

i have changed some passwords and now thephone isi telling me my email and new passwords are wrong and i just used them on my laptop

signing into google against my better judgment on the phone caused all of this.

what happens to phone functionality if i delete googleaccount on phone only? sorry about spacing and typos

it wants somehng on the lockscreen. i don't even knoow what that is. or how it works.a friend ofmine ave me this phone and we didn't discuss it as everything autofilled fine until google showed up

Well from what's it's saying on your screen you would have to set up a screen lock to edit those passwords if you don't you can't because security measures
