Ok so I am trying to get this used Gnex I purchased back to stock. It is not listing the device. Anything I could try to do to fix this so I can use the automatic driver installation?

Re: [Automated] Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.1 (Updated 7/12/12)

I tried using Wug's toolkit and right now my phone is on a screen that says "start" up top, a green andoid and says "downloadin" , "do not turn off target".... seems to be stuck there. Ugh.

I can get on a messenger or whatever is easiest for someone to help me, I really need this phone working again.

That is Odin mode. If you were trying to get into bootloader mode you need to hold BOTH volume buttons and the power button. Not the volume down button and power button (which is what gets you to the screen you are on). To exit Odin mode just hit the power to start your device back up.

Please elaborate. I am sure it's not bricked... You can easily restore it with the toolkit. Can you explain what you were doing.

Re: [Automated] Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.1 (Updated 7/12/12)

Thanks to dmmarck I got my phone back to working condition.

Now I am not even sure I should attempt this again, that scared me. :-\

The auto driver configuration wouldn't work so I was doing manual. Got to step 6a and "samsung devices" wasn't listed. I figured I'd start over and that's when this all happened, maybe I needed to exit a certain way?

Could someone guide me through this? I just want this new(used) phone I bought back to stock.

Is it possible the auto configuration might work now with some drivers installed? It that less screw-up able?

Edit:

Thanks to twindragons I am all set! Just need to lock it back up, or maybe not even go that far, we will see. The most important part is done, for some reason the Wugs toolkit wouldn't work for me but oh well.

The drivers seem to respond better to manual installation, if that makes any sense.

I tried manual as well with no luck. But then again I couldn't possibly know less about this stuff, so it could be more user error than anything.

I'm trying to download the file to get the tool kit & the web page is timing out. It won't let me download it. Is there any other place that I can download this? I just wanted to use this so I could reroot my phone. It's still unlocked but when I got the 4.0.4 update, I lost root. Thanks!

You don't need the toolkit, if you just need to root 4.0.4 then just boot into recovery (assuming you've got one such as CWR flashed, if not be sure to do that first...) and flash this file: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/47300967/su404.zip

Re: [Automated] Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.2 (Updated 7/14/12)

Hey Wug, if I've installed drivers, created backups, and successfully unlocked my device on 1.4 will I need to reinstall drivers or have any other problems if I upgrade to 1.5.2?

And thanks by the way - I've flashed stuff back to stock before, but the Nexus Toolkit is the easiest method to unlock and root I've ever seen - really appreciated!

Nah once the drivers are installed on your computer you should be good to go moving forward

Re: [Automated] Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.2 (Updated 7/14/12)

Hello all,
Every time I try to backup my media, the process runs like this.

Checking ABD Status.
Device Connected.
Pulling Data / Media (Process...blah, blah...20 minutes)

Then 2 seconds later it tells me the process is finished.
When I check the folder it is empty; nothing was backed up.

Any idea what's going on here?
Any help is appreciated.

Re: [Automated] Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.2 (Updated 7/14/12)

Hey Guys! Can someone do a step by step on how to use Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.2. I know for many it’s so easy and you may be laughing at my post calling me a noob. I really want to root but i dont want to screw up my Nexus because i did step 1 & 2 correctly and messed up step 3 (if you catch my drift) Btw i did a searched on youtube to watch someone Unlock and Root using Wug's and found a couple of videos but they are older using his older toolkit versions. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Re: [Automated] Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.2 (Updated 7/14/12)

I've completed Wugfresh's instructions and have unlocked the phone.

I tried hitting the "Flash Stock + Unroot" button but once the image file download had been completed, it stays stuck there.

The process doesn't progress to Hashcheck, Extraction and Flashing Stock.

EDIT:
I had to do the manual flash method espoused here:

3. Your phone should now boot into Bootloader mode. Get ready for flashing!
http://webtrickz.com/guide-to-updat...oid-4-0-4-and-get-future-updates-from-google/

I flashed each image one by one and downloaded a flashed the baseband image too:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1571715

After erasing the cache, I was able to update to 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean).

Hope this helps some who got stuck like I did in the flashing of the yakju image.

I posted this question a couple pages back but didn't get an answer. Any help is appreciated

Alright I'm stumped. I use this toolkit so I can keep my stock recovery. But I cant delete the ready to flash folder. Its got a gig of my compiled ROM that I would like to r?clame it won't delete on the phone it just spits out an unable to complete action error. If I delete via pc it deletes but as soon as I reboot the phone it comes back. How do I kill this folder I wouldn't care so much except it has one GB of space it rufuses to give back. Any ideas would Be appreciated

In windows have you tried using the Shift+Del after selecting the folder?
