Success, for some reason, and I can not work out for the life of me why, a previous phone connected to my PC Nokia N97 had caused an issue with some Bluetooth thing, soon as I removed any trace of that, this worked like a charm!!!!

I have different checksums then yours
The checksum is:

did I get the wrong file or what, but it's works for me, though there was a missing step when installing the driver, adb server has to start manually.

Anyone notice that the link in the original post for the toolkit says that the file no longer exists?

I had a friend try to unlock and couldn't find the program anywhere. I shared a copy of the toolkit via Dropbox for him.

i think it's just bc goo.im was down yesterday. pretty sure it's working now

I am trying to unroot and return to stock because I have to return my phone to verizon. after clicking on 'flash stock and unroot' it downloaded what appeared to be the files needed and a box that says 'checking ADB status' appears. however, it is not moving on past this point. does anyone know what is going on? any help would be great

Do you have USB debugging enabled. The phone is not communicating with the Pc
