Automatic Brightness still occurs when disabled, also stutters

Re: Automatic Brightness still occurs when disabled, also stutter

I am not having this issue from the way I have my settings. However I just turned auto brightness on and auto adjust screen tone. Then turned screen timeout to 15 seconds. I watched it slowly dim and then shut off. Also turned it on and watched it slowly raise the brightness. On one of the passes it stuttered a little. Also started to open and close different apps. It also acted a little strange as the auto brightness and screen tone attempted to make changes. So I am now turning all of the above off as that is the way I like it.

So it seems as if these settings are causing very similiar issues in comparison to the OP. I would turn these things off and run with it. Although at the same time being safe and returning the device isn't at bad idea during the warranty period.

This issue has nothing to do with auto brightness. Whether you have that on or off it still dims the screen 10s before screen timeout.

was replyin to 1st part of your OP m8 sorry. i have time-out set to 10mins so havent had a problem :-)

Do you have a S3 that you confirm does the stutter/steps when dimming?

Yes, I have two S3's and they both do it. Reason I have two at the moment is that I had to get a warranty replacement because the home button on my first one was sticky and unresponsive. The stepped dimming thing doesn't really bother me though.

For what I've experienced it stutters when power saving mode is on, and only when coming from sleep, and that's it.
