Availability on the 19th

i called my local gamestop and he said they're expecting delivery on the 19th, and they should have them in stores on the 19th. but he said call on the 18th to make sure as nothing is 100%
I got a call about 15 minutes ago (3:45 PM PST) from my pre order Gamestop in the Alderwood Mall north of Seattle. They said they were now coming in on Friday the 23rd. Interestingly they did not say they "should" have them by then, but that they "would" have them by then. Oh well....a couple more days. We shall see.
I dislike how close this is to Christmas, but I am surprised the Seattle area stores are getting them. I should have pre-ordered from Gamestop, but didn't think they would be getting them in our area. I should look into this tomorrow. I have a few games to trade in so that would be helpful!
gamestop seems to have better service than best buy on this. I have gift cards for best buy this is going to suck if they dont get them in soon.. I skipped out of the galaxy nexus because this
I dunno - I've posted this in other forums - but GameStop employees will tell you ANYTHING to get your $50 deposit. "You need it on the 19th? Yeah, we'll have it - can I have your $50 now?".
My guess - this is just the beginning - this isn't the first report I'm reading this morning about people getting calls from GameStop - yet, they were SO CERTAIN they would have it on the 19th!
EDIT - I predict they'll get them in just about when everyone else gets them in...
I have a question. I have never purchased anything through a pre-order before until now. Isn't the whole idea of a pre-order is to get the item reserved so you get one from the first batch released and get it first? Best Buy is still showing the 18th for availability? First, is this when Best Buy should have it or when I should have it? Second, I have heard rumors that the prime will be in stores on the same day? Doesn't this defeat the purpose of a pre-order if I can go down to a store and purchase one right away and not have it before it gets in the stores? Granted, that I can get one before they sell out. I hope they don't get delayed again. Would be nice if Asus would actually say something. Even if it is bad new. At least we would all know then.
Just called my local Gamestop & was informed that Transformer Prime got delayed to 23rd. He wasn't sure if they will have any extra shipment, but call on the 22nd for a chance.
The 18th is on a Sunday, so you won't be getting it on that day. I don't know the answer to the rest of those questions, but you won't get it on the 18th. I would think our best hope is that we get a shipping confirmation on the 18th or even tomorrow. Theoretically, our shipment should arrive the same time the stores get their shipments for retail stock.
EDIT: I should add that I have never pre ordered anything either. Haha.

Why would the 18th be out of the question? A number of Phone releases in the past have happened on Sundays.
I am talking about receiving a pre-ordered product in the mail on the 18th. I am not talking about what may or may not be available in the store.

I just went into BestBuy to see if they could tell me if the Prime was on their manifest for tonight’s shipment. The manager said that in the Employee news letter that it said that chances were they wouldn't be receiving any until the beginning if January. He said there's still a chance that they might get some in on Monday but he really had no idea. I will be getting there an hour before they open just in case. My gut is telling me that I won't have one in my hands for a few weeks but I am going to try like hell to make sure I get one if at all possible.
That would make me a bit grumpy if they ended up being available in the stores before I would get the one that I preordered. Especially since I had one on preorder at Amazon first and they were nice enough to cancel the order. Best Buy has already put a preauth charge on my bank account 3 times since I ordered it. The last one just disappeared today from my account and that one they actually ran it twice so I had over a grand being held on my account. I wonder if it disapearing is a bad sign that they are being delayed? I'm probably looking too much into this.
Don't know if this is just GameStop (probably not), but I've heard the same.

Just this interesting article on a UK website posted in the last hour ..."The launch was delayed once Asus recalled 300 of its ASUS Transformer Prime Tablets because of Wi-Fi Connectivity problems. The matter was solely found within the 1st batch of tablets sold in Taiwan, in keeping with the corporate."

gamestop seemed pretty confident on the 23rd, and they made the effort to call people to let them know this... i think it's pretty likely the actual date.
wow cool! my bb order says available on 18 so hopefully they will ship it tomorrow..
Darn you guys!!!!! I ordered from amazon thinking they would be most likely to get the tablet in with how big they are. Well congrats anyways...

I ordered from BB, and haven't gotten anything yet. Here's hoping it comes soon.
