A couple things...

1) We don't have the final version of the V20 to test yet
2) Even if those #'s don't improve with the final version they're still better than the V10 which is good to see.

I don't expect the V20 to outperform my S7 Edge battery on a single charge but at least the V20 can be swapped out with a fresh battery. It's the fastest way to go from 0-100.
Physics always wins. The LCD based on media streaming is a power hog like the MXPE. Plus the always on display sips some too.

Not surprised if there is zero improvement with retail units. What matters though is comparing one's own usage with previous device. Comparing to other people is comical due to all the variables.

Agreed, LCD, plus an extra screen that is always on, is the issue. There is an article out now saying LG planned to switch to LED for the G6, but they dont have enough manufacturing capacity. The TV division and smartwatch screens they make are overloaded. Earliest for LED is second half of next year, for the V30 I suppose. At least they know its holding them back.

I think i'm 100% right since i want a phone to last a full day at least without any charge, i don't wanna carry additional stuff with me.

But that is just me... whatever u think is acceptable, let's focus on the V20 and how awesome it would be :D

Also seems one reviewer (mobilesyrup) noticed lagging and crashing on processor demanding apps such as Google maps and camera app... Not a good sign... Hope the final version irons out all these issues...my strategy is not to be an early adopter...ill wait till I see actual user reviews in YouTube and Android Central...

Seems a given the stability issues will be mitigated for retail release. More the reason I think end of month before people actually get the device. Perorder is of course not the delivery date.

Some of us guys don't carry purses to store an extra battery, so whatever is in the phone has to last the whole day.
Do you wear leggings, then? Because most of us men were pants with pockets. These batteries are slim enough to go unnoticed in even the tightest pair of pants, assuming you're wearing a pair of jeans with pockets and not a pair of jeggings without.

You're wrong in saying that a high end phone requires a large battery.
How do you figure? You want these high end phones to have small batteries so that they either don't last all day or require being plugged in constantly?

You got your point, but when i buy high end phone i expect the best battery available with the most or the best features on a phone, S7E is good example of that, despite it has it's own weaknesses.

The obsession with super thick phones ruining battery life, yes it's beautiful but i prefer function over form.

Luckily there are many smartphones to fit different needs, now if the V20 battery is 3200mah, then it's pretty bad , i want at least 5.5 SOT with mid to heavy usage.

Besides the Plus that gets by with good SOT due to 7% smaller display and 1080p, the Note 7 seems the best bet for that. I have adjusted mine to 1080p and leave ti there. Still smokes the Plus display and battery life no problem with my heavier use hitting 5.5 hours SOT. Not seeing much point in 1440p on a 5.7" display unless for VR. Then it really is best to be 4K, since splits to 2K (1440p) for VR. :)

The V20 is not going to get 5.5 SOT, unless really dim and not a lot of heavier apps. LCD drains the juice at 1440p. LCD is firing up all pixels even on a black background and the second display sips some as well. There is a reason to this point Apple phones are still 1080p and that is still more using battery using LCD.

Well, that and their display cost must be really low, so more money since retail pricing is staying as always. Betting next iPhone is LED and higher res.

Yep kinda sad as i wanna try LG again, i had G3 and loved it so much so i bought the G4, amazing camera poor phone very poor phone, got the Note 5 and never looked back, and now on S7E, honestly there is no phone that can rival it atm,i'm afraid to try new Note 7 :D

I think in many ways the Note 7 is better than the S7E.....I just wish there was a flat screen version.

The irony being the one hand use is due to the slight curve design. I like it now on Note 7, but find the 7E has too much curve.

For battery life, the Note 7 killer feature IMO is the resolution options. 1080p makes a huge difference for gpu power consumption, speed and still looks great.

None the less, I would love a V30 to have a better more power efficient display, keep the jack and replaceable battery :)

Display res options too.

Gonna try the new UX on my S7 when custom rom developers fix the issue with camera, hopefully before Nougat, as it will come universe with it.

I think i'll skip the V20, actually the Mate 9 really caught my eye, still have hope for v20 though.

This.

The willingness to swap out a battery just because you can is disgusting. A premium cell phone should last all day no problem. Well well you can just swap the battery like its 2004. Just take one out of your fanny pack and pop it in.

Naw bro. Im good on that.

It's a tiny thin battery, not a car battery. It goes right in the pocket with ease. My V10 spare usually travels with me everywhere just in case (although I have probably only needed to switch batteries a handful of times.

The point though is LG seems to be using the replaceable battery as a crutch to help cover for weak battery life.

Well .. they lost me boys. I bought the Pixel XL 128 GB version (black).

I would have considered it too if it had expandable memory.

I went with the 128 which is more than enough for me. 32 GB would be too small over time. I don't need anything bigger than 64 really but 128 will do me fine. I don't use expandable.

Then that should work out great for you man! Congrats on your new phone!

For me though, I eat through storage pretty quickly! Between apps, recording video, pics, movies and games, I go through 128gb pretty fast. I probably could get by on 128gb if I took the time to offload videos and pics to my PC but I get lazy about it. lol
