Availability

Unless it comes from Android Police, Android Central or the usual leakers like Evan Blass etc not going to take it serious. Also it's moot point when the two main companies involved LG and Google have put out press release saying V20 will be the first to be released with Nougat. Anyway, not arguing any more over this since there's nothing to discuss here.

It's crazy to know that people believe these bogus reports over the companies press release who are making the respective phones..smh

We'll know in less than a day.

So far away! Launches are usually in the AM. Looks like 5pm where I'm at. So anxious to know already

Hopefully soon after the big reveal! If I do plan to buy one, it won't be for a while; but it'd be nice to see it on the shelves!

Personally I'm looking for the unlocked/unbranded version. LG sold the G5 unlocked version at launch thru B&H which will be awesome if they do with V20 as well. No tax and no useless carrier crap is win.

Some advanced calling features might not work which I hate

That's fine with me, I'm in strong T-Mobile signal area so don't care if wifi calling or VoLTE doesn't work. Anyway with other unbranded phones like my unlocked HTC 10, S7 unlocked US model, WiFi calling worked, band 12 works etc. Either way not a deal breaker for me, more important is having a non carrier version like HTC, Motorola and pretty much every other company other than Samsung has at launch. Don't like when companies bend over back to carriers and not sell non carrier versions at launch.

That's one more reason why I returned my T-Mobile note 7. No option to buy non carrier version at launch so couldn't tolerate the carrier version for long enough.

I think when I had the Nexus 6P I still had HD calling but no visual voicemail and WIFI calling. Visual voicemail I can use a third party app for. I want WIFI calling for when I am at my brother's house, but what I really want it for is at friend's hunting cabin. I know I can use Google hangouts but I think i can only get it to work for outgoing calls.

Indeed, I hope they do with V20, let's see.

Looks like the G5 was announced on Feb 21 but released April 1.

If the V20 takes that long I'll be ticked lol

You may be right, they just said availability third quarter ... I'm like wtf?

Looks like they will release V20 in Korea this month and get the bragging rights of shipped first phone with Nougat. With no confirmed release date for US, as you mentioned Google phones may release before this.

Not sure when will companies learn to do proper launch.

Trust me, I'm not happy about being right on this. Also, looks like no unlocked version just carrier versions in the U.S. I'll most likely wait a few months post release and pick one up off swappa.

Unlocked version is there, they mentioned in their Facebook live stream about available from carriers and also from B&H photo.

Korea - Likely around this month
US - "Q3 2016"
Europe - Nope

I'm still wondering why LG did the same thing Samsung did with the Note5. Samsung admitted that it was a mistake when the Note7 was released. Why would LG do the same thing? Especially since LG trolled Samsung for that decision when they did so.

Since we are in the last month of the third quarter of 2016, that seems like a pointlessly vague statement. "September 2016" or "by the end of the month" would have been a much clearer way to say it, unless they are using some bizarre alternate system of measuring "quarters".

I'm seriously thinking about grabbing this but will need to have it in my hands to feel how " premium " it feels ?!?!

Coming from a S6 Edge+ and a recently returned Note 7 I need something ummmm " nice " in my hands again.

All the other specs I'm good with

Iphone getting announced today, and you will be able to buy it on the 16th next week. Preorder on Friday. That's the way you do it.

Well, that is silly wording since by default means September, unless they are referring to their fiscal accounting calendar ;) That would mean next year now.
