Available Now: Droid X 2.3.340 Update Discussion (Not Gingerbread!)

Hi, the X is my first smartphone and just had it a couple days now. I've been getting messages for the 2.3.340 update, but I keep putting it to install later. I'm running stock, not rooted, android 2.2 system version 2.3.151 and having no problems so far. I know it's only been a couple days, but everything seems to be working fine.
The only problems I've been having is being new to android and user error getting things setup.
Should I download the Update or wait awhile to see how the phone works with what I have now?
I'm just worried about having problems after installing the update, just from reading a lot of people having problems when installing updates. Also, I don't know what the benefits of the update will be. I Appreciate any advice.

My opinion. but for the most part the update is solid. YMMV as anything you place on your phone, but sooner or later you'll need to update anyway. I think the changes are a welcome improvement. I'd do it if I were you.

There's not that much of a difference. You can install the update now and wouldn't even notice any changes.

I apologize in advance if this has come up in this thread, but I don't have time to look and I'm on here quickly for a couple of friend's X..

Had anyone been experiencing freezing/rebooting since they updated?

They're telling me that ever since the update they're having those issues.

Neither are rooted and have very few apps installed.

Thanks in advance everyone.

This is true, done this before and it actually works.

AFAIK, This is just performing a PRL update...

Something you can also do if you're getting a crummy signal is to enable airplane mode, then disable airplane mode... (this will make the phone re-sync up with local cell towers...)
