Awesome Costco deal!!

There is always some kind of a promotion inside COSCO. The company is actually Wireless Advocates.
You have to pay cash for the phone or use whatever credit card is allowed in COSCO. I don't remember. I used to work for WA inside COSCO. Sometimes there are rebates on the phones too. I don't know what they will do now regarding new every 2 Corporate no longer offers a rebate discount on the phones.
Those that do get the NE2 discount will only be able to get it one more time. I have upgraded early and was told if I had waited till March would had gotten it this last time. But I am having problems with my phone and have numerous replacements and so they offered to upgrade me early. I wish the phones could make it the full two years. They cost so much and don't last. And I am not hard on my phones. I highly recommend getting insurance and if you don't want that to be sure then to have an extended warranty on the phone. Glad I have it.

With all the talk about Costco, does BJ's Wholesale Club have similar offers? I know they have a Verizon kiosk in their stores but am curious if others know if they have deals in line with what Costco offers.

If you have an existing plan, you will retain the data plan you had when you upgrade at Costco.

They accept Cash, Debit, Am-Ex and Checks from members here in Southern California. Not 100% sure if that is everywhere in the US or not.

They do not accept the NE2 issued by Verizon, they have some extras pack and line activation rebates and usually a lower price that what the NE2 provides. (at least what I've seen)

I haven't been able to get my local WA Manager to confirm this is really happening (they haven't heard anything yet) , so we'll see if it is really at Costco or not soon.

I got a charge a while back (hate it), and I am going to replace it with a Bionic before my 90 days are up too.

for the guy with the Executive membership issue, go talk to your Costco's membership counter, they can downgrade you easy.

FYI I do work for a Costco here, as a regular floor employee. And don't ask, cuz I don't have any super secrit squirl info on the release date or stock or such.

No, because the kiosk inside of BJ's is a VZW Corporate kiosk. It's just like walking into a corporate store.

So I just got back from Costco and talking with the sales rep that sold me my Droid Charge. Luckily for me my Charge was having problems bouncing back between 3G and 4G while I was at the kiosk. I showed him and mentioned that this happens a few times a day which it does. I have been talking to VZW tech support about it for the past few weeks. So I'm happy that I didn't take VZW up on their offer of sending me a new Charge to see if it is my phone that is the issue, because Costco said I have to return the exact phone purchased....no VZW refurbs or Insurance replacements. I told him that after looking online that I was interested in the bionic since that would still be within my 90 return. He said no problem, if that is the phone I want just stop in on the th when it is released and he will set me up.

I suppose I could ask at Best Buy but its late and sometimes we have people here who know, so does anyone know if BB will price match a bundle like what Costco is offering?

they will not.. bestbuy does not match costco prices on anything

I will never buy electronics from best buy again! They duped me into the insurance on my iPod touch assuring me I would get a brand new one in case of malfunction. Well they never said or have in print that it does NOT apply to ipod touch Well 4 refurbished ipods later and absolutely no help from best buy I have ZERO faith in them. PS each refurbished iPod took 2 weeks for delivery & also each one broke within 2 weeks of each other.

Ditto. The ONLY thing I've bought from BB in the last dozen plus years have been little incidental things (a couple of cables and maybe a DVD or two at most) and even then I felt awful giving that pathetic excuse for a retailer my money. It just happened to be the closest place that had what I needed and we don't have a huge selection of electronics retailers DECENT electronics retailers in my area..... :p

When it comes to the extended service plans, 99.999% of the time they're ripoffs plain and simple. Dave Ramsey has a funny section about them and from having (briefly) worked in the industry I can tell you that the service plans to a commission sales man are pure spiff. The retailers make money hand over fist on them which is why they like to push them.

Sadly in my area Ultimate Electronics went belly up, Circuit City is dead, choices are becoming annoyingly limited when it comes to purchases of this type. Best Buy can work - just know what you're after and how much you should pay, check the item at the store if possible (box damage and so on) and also check to see if the box has been tampered with.

Wow dude...... we haven't had an "Ultimate Electronics" here for like......EVER!! LOL I had completely forgotten about that place it's been so long ago.....used to like that store though.....was mostly for the car and home audio stuff at the time.....back in the day before cell phones were even looking like they could be "smart"! LOL And never even had a Circuit City in my area before the went belly. Pretty much our choices are BB or American (they're actually ahead of BB on my "NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH AGAIN" list...) and aside from the electronics departments of Costco/Sam's Club and your Target/Wal-Mart options......we have a few "mom & pop" electronic places that deal in mostly home theater type stuff as a specialty and that's it..... My most recent LCD TV purchases I've made were from Costco and will probably just stick with that....or order online.

Just don't let you BS you into their "Executive" membership. Oof.. I made the mistake of letting them do that w/the promise the bonus will offset the increase in membership cost. Um.. yay, got a check for $12. I need to swing by my local Costco to have a little "chat" with them. Suffice to say it will not be pleasant for them as I do not like getting mislead/lied to.

It really depends on how much you typically spend with Costco for you to decide whether an Executive membership is worth it. This year I got a bonus check for $114, which means my Executive membership was free and I got a little extra. Usually before they sell you an Executive membership they'll look at your spending habits and advise you if it would be a good deal. Just buying gas there over the course of a year adds up to quite a bit for me. (I don't work for Costco, never did.)

And to ad to that if you don't earn back the $100 they will reinburse you anything between the standard membership and executive membership. I typically get between $150 and $300 back, but I have had 1 year (last year) where I ony got $75 back and Costco credited me $25 on my renewal for the Executive membership.

I'll have to see what they're willing to do then. I shop there every week as far as buying my gas and when we upgraded they looked at our membership and assured us we'd more than make it up. Um.. no. A measly check for ~$12 is all we had to show for it. To say the least I was a bit disappointed.

In general I like getting my gas there.. the local Kroger gas depot was designed by a blind sociopath and I passionately hate getting it there.

Pending VZW developing an AT&T like cranal-rectumitis with the WebDock will be preordering it and the WebDock this Thursday or whenever it comes available for preorder.
