Awesome Costco deal!!

A measly check for ~$12 is all we had to show for it. To say the least I was a bit disappointed.

I just signed up for the Executive membership this past month on my renewal since they made it sound like I would benefit based on my past usage.... from my understanding if you only got $12 for the cash back deal or whatever, then I think you should probably be seeing a credit of $43 on your renewal, since they claim they will refund the different of what you earned if not the full amount of the Executive upgrade ($55 for the upgrade less your $12 that you acutally earned). At least that was MY understanding of how it was to work.... I'll be disappointed if that's not the case. I'm sure if you said something at member services about your dissatisfaction, they would take care of you. I've always had good experiences with the Costco service.

I am on the fence about getting the Bionic. With the Droid HD and Prime possibly right around the corner I feel like waiting. This Costco deal is the only way I would buy the Bionic now. All those extras might be hard to pass up.

I'll have to see what they're willing to do then. I shop there every week as far as buying my gas and when we upgraded they looked at our membership and assured us we'd more than make it up. Um.. no. A measly check for ~$12 is all we had to show for it. To say the least I was a bit disappointed.

In general I like getting my gas there.. the local Kroger gas depot was designed by a blind sociopath and I passionately hate getting it there.

Pending VZW developing an AT&T like cranal-rectumitis with the WebDock will be preordering it and the WebDock this Thursday or whenever it comes available for preorder.

If you shop there every week and buy gas there, $12 doesn't sound right at all. Maybe this was for a partial year?

Gasoline isn't factored into the Reward for the Executive membership. You only get a Reward on Gasoline if you have the Costco Amex...

Ditto. The ONLY thing I've bought from BB in the last dozen plus years have been little incidental things (a couple of cables and maybe a DVD or two at most) and even then I felt awful giving that pathetic excuse for a retailer my money. It just happened to be the closest place that had what I needed and we don't have a huge selection of electronics retailers DECENT electronics retailers in my area..... :p

Same here in SB, you can buy electronics at Best Buy or you can buy it from Best Buy. There really isn't another electronics store. Fry's is in Oxnard, about an hour and a half away. I love Fry's, they often have amazing prices, but that's a long drive to go buy a cable lol. I buy online most of the time now, it's hard to find a good price anymore on anything in retail.

I go to school at UCSB, and I can attest to this. It doesn't help that our Best Buy is pretty poorly stocked and staffed. More frustrating is only having a K-Mart in Goleta, and a Target way over in Ventura >_<

Then you know my pain . I hate Best Buy, especially ours, because it is so understaffed and not very well stocked. I can never get anything I actually need there, I always just end up ordering stuff online. The other day I went in looking for an Xbox 360 wireless controller adapter, and they didn't even sell a wired controller.
And yeah, K-Mart sucks too. Target and Fry's are the closest places to buy stuff, I usually just go all the way to Fry's, it's only like an extra 15 minutes. Even Wal-Mart there in the Oxnard shopping area there has better electronics than Best Buy here in Goleta/Santa Barbara. Although, Circuit City's going out of business sale helped me out a lot :). 52" TV, awesome mouse, memory cards, printer, printer cartridges, etc. I got SOOO much stuff then lol.

Well the consensus appears to be against BB on this. It seems to almost be a staffing issue from some of the comments. The BB here in Bellingham, WA is staffed by a great group of young people who clearly know their business.

That being said my dad, who is 84 always buys Costco because he is one of those folks who always seems to find something wrong with his purchase. I just shake my head at how much stuff he takes back.

If I end up buying the Bionic it looks like the bundle deal at Costco will be where I go. I just need to be patient and weigh the device against what is coming out from Samsung. Motorola fans have me swayed to the attributes of the radios in their devices and since phone function is paramount to me, speaker phone and reception being key, this may be my first moto phone.

Should be an interesting month. Thanks all for your comments to my question.

So I was actually heading to my local Costco store this evening and stopped by the wireless kiosk and talked to the guys there about the Bionic....they anticipate having it on the 8th, but couldn't guarantee that they would for sure have it, said they actually hadn't gotten official confirmation of that yet. But said they should have it "shortly" after the 8th if they wouldn't have it on launch day. The other thing that they mentioned which I wasn't aware of.....apparently as part of any cell phone purchase from the Costco wireless kiosk (regardless of phone or carrier) they normally include a "bundle" that includes a carry case, car charger and screen protector. Guess this stuff will also be included when you buy the Bionic there along with all the other items previously mentioned. Car charger may be a little overkill when you're already getting the car dock, no idea what the carry case will be like and whether I'd even use one and screen protectors are always a nice to have....

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Best Buy. I can walk in and close my eyes...three hours later be in line with a bunch of tech stuff I didn't know I needed. We were just referring to our LOCAL Best Buy. Which is poorly staffed and stocked. The Best Buy from my hometown is actually quite nice. But the one where I go to school is kind of a nightmare.

Really, it all varies by store. Some places just have ****** employees. Some have really nice people who genuinely care about their jobs. The people at my Costco aren't particularly stand up folks, but if I am getting free docks and a battery, then I am sold.

I really hope they will have it available on the 8th or at least we had a good solid confirmation on when they will have it.

This does sound like an awesome deal! It definitely has me interested in the Bionic again. I'm sitting on one more upgrade, and was going to pass on the Bionic for a Prime/Vigor/DROID HD, but this deal could easily change all that. And with Costco's 90-Day return policy, if one of those phones comes out before the end of the year and is too good to pass up, we can just return the Bionic. I have a feeling this phone will be a monster, though.

I expect updates for those of us who don't have Costco memberships/are at work. :)

I'm very much considering taking off from work and heading to Costco. If they don't have any, just gonna head to the VZW corp store next door and get one from there.

I've got a crapload of vacation days anyway.

I'm trying to find a swivel holster for the Bionic...any body have any luck finding one...if you were looking?
